Chassis Number GGA50

A delightfully original car well suited to wedding work due to its 7 seat configuration. The body is by Park Ward & is ever so slightly lower then the Hooper equivalent. giving the car slightly more rakish lines.

The car is finished in cream over black with the paintwork being in excellent condition. Twin exposed side-mounts are fitted along with a commodious period luggage trunk to the rear. The wheel arches are gracefully sculpted. giving a swooping appearance pleasing to the eye. Original ace wheel discs are fitted to all wheels. & all six tyres are excellent.

Mechanically the car is superb. Instant starting from cold & settling down to an immediate steady idle. The car started on the switch 3 times in a row when warm & once after sitting for 5 minutes. attesting to the perfect compression of the engine. (Starting off the switch meaning to put the ignition switch on whilst the engine is stopped. & quickly to retard the ignition lever on the steering mounted control arm. which thereby turns the distributor. creating a spark. The engine will then burst into life all by itself without recourse to starter motor or starting handle but only if the compression is superb. )

The interior is pure '30s nostalgia. Cream leather is fitted to the front. & unusually to the rear & occasional seats. It is in very. ery good condition needing nothing more then an occasional clean & dressing of hide food. All the original fittings are present with the ashtrays being given over to the more healthy option of being a repository for wedding bouquets!! The walnut is figured rather then burr & is taken from the root stock of the walnut tree. similar to that used in gun stock making. An unusual art deco clock face is mounted in the instrument panel. The car also retains its klaxon horn ready to bray upon your command. The car has far more walnut accents the most with slabs of Walnut seemingly wherever you look.

There is a photographic record of the cars restoration including the engine coming out of the car & the crank shaft being line bored etc. A large pile of bills comes with the car attesting to the engine rebuild & other works undertaken.

To sum up; A well sorted car that has been properly maintained & has enjoyed regular but low mileage use employed in wedding work. that has consequently kept the car in top condition. During the last 4 years the car has done just a couple of hundred miles ferrying occasional itinerant brides to churches.

It will be arriving with us in two weeks time after a family commitment.
