1981 RENAULT 5 GORDINI alpine .solid car, huge folder, turbo alloys classic

Renault 5 gordini normally aspirated.

After 24 years of owning this car i have to admit that it no longer suits my lifestyle to own a classic so very reluctantly the G5 will be moving on to a new home.

this is the first advert for the car and is being offered as it is. i'm happy to entertain offers but they will have to be close to the asking price at this stage.

been in storage and on sorn for 7 years and been dry stored since i stopped using it as my everyday transport in 1995ish.

I've owned loads of G5s and G5 turbos but this is the only one i've called MY car.

bodywork. these cars rot everywhere so this one has had virtually everything replaced and seam welded with new panels. rear quarters and inner arches. floors. flitches. major reconstruction on A pillar/floor/chassis legs and sills. the only place i would consider to be in need of work is the rear panel behind the petrol tank which has been codged to get through a MOT ( i will include a replacement section chopped out of an other car in the sale)

Paint - the respray was done about 15 years ago and turned out better in some areas than others - time and effort would improve it with cutting and polishing.

mechanically. engine has never let me down and i've done 40000 miles in this car. gearbox is good every gear  works which is rare for a G5 (third box in this car)

Trim. front seats are not original renault but recaros from a capri from the same period (big improvement) rear seats originals all boot bits are there including the cloth shelf.

improvements? alloys from a g5 turbo. i'll supply the original 3 slots as well. tyres 185/55/13. exhaust g5t. front suspension g5t. shock absorbers bilstein adjustables (or spax- can't remeber).

paperwork. no mot or tax at the moment. i will t&t later in the year if it doesn't find a good home this month.

all previous mots and logbooks and plenty of other stuff.
