1934 Talbot AX 65 Six Light Saloon.

Records confirm that JN 4086 was registered in Southend-on-Sea. The rolling chassis was dispatched to the coachbuilder Darracq on the 22nd of March 1934 for the construction of the special six light saloon coachwork with the attractive sloping tail which incorporated a useful boot space. When completed. the Talbot was delivered to Pass and Joyce Ltd. and thence to Pollards of Leigh-on-Sea. A record of previous owners is supplied with the motor car. which indicates that there have been just six previous custodians; the first owned the motor car from 1934 until 1967 and the second until 1990. who was from the same family.

The car is presented in absolutely superb condition & wants for nothing. The car was dry stored in a barn for many many years which accounts for the beautiful state of preservation of the interior. It is almost 100% original with the exception of the drivers seat base that has been re-upholstered in leather closely matching the original. The condition of the interior is stunning & is absolutely a delight to sit in.

Mechanically the car is fine order throughout having had huge money spent upon it. The engine has had new pistons fitted to it & a through overhaul. In consequence it runs silently & starts instantly off the dynastart. The pre-selector gear box has also been dismantled & rebuilt to as new spec making it a pleasure to use. A new radiator core was also fitted during its restoration. The car has a large sunroof & a decent sized boot.

A Kenlow fan & modern indicators have been fitted as a nod towards modern motoring safety. The car comes with an assortment of paperwork dating back to when the car was new & covering many years in between. Current mileage reads at 74. 00 & is believed to be correct. These are quality British 6 cylinder cars designed to go head to head with Rolls-Royces. but at a lower price point. The vintage look & stunning original interior make it an appealing proposition.
