Fiat : Other Siata Spring Roadster MK1

This is a unique opportunity to purchase one of the rarest. coolest. and iconic micro-cars ever made: Fiat Siata Spring MK1.
In the late '60. Fiat collaborated for it's final time with the legendary 1926 founded Turin based Siata - coach builder and race tuner. It resulted in the Siata Spring - a funky sports roadster micro-car that would echo classic pre-war English sports cars in design. but integrating contemporary Italian fun-to-drive characteristics. The Siata Spring was hand crafted by Siata for only two model  years - 1968 and 1969 before ORSA purchased the production line in 1970 and continued production for five more years. It is estimated that out of the seven production years. only 250 cars survive to this day. making the estimated number of surviving original Turin car within a little two digit number.
The original Siata Turin built cars are based on the floor pan and mechanics of the Fiat 850.  using it's four drum brake layout. four speed manual transmission. and the Super version of the 843cc. This light weight microcar weighting about 740 k”g. got to 125 kp”h and accelerated nicely. The main attraction was always the complete open air driving experience provided by world renowned hand crafted Italian coachwork. Later. ORSA built cars were based on the Spanish version- Seat 850. with 904cc and front disk brakes. Sadly. some features were dropped. such as the iconic reclining windshield.  The Spring presented here is an absolutely original Siata Turin build car featuring the iconic reclining windshield. It is rare even to a greater extent for being driven only 7. 00 miles since new. It is a true time bubble. still with the original trim. indicators. and chrome. The original engine sounds and performs like new. Amazingly. it's 50. 00 Italian Lira spoke wheels (factory extra) still sport the original 45 year old tiers- confirming the car's ultra-low mileage. This exquisite Siata Spring was found stored inside a shop for more than twenty years after coming in for a minor fender impact. A year ago it was painted back to it's original yellow color. during the work. the body was stripped to bare metal and was completely restored. No expense was sparred. The body showed no rust whatsoever. indicating that this Siata was always stored inside and was well taken care of.  A new vinyl top was installed. It starts. drives. and sounds like new – as a 7. 00 miles car should.
This Siata Spring is in great condition and is a delight to drive and look upon!  
I have included a list of some minor detailing that I attending to would bring the car to an absolute show winning condition:One interior door handle got lost but can easily be reproduced.  It is missing the easily obtainable stock Fiat 850 heater module.  There is a little discoloring in the trunk and in the wooden dash board (pictured).  The exterior plastic door trim can be redone but it's so rare to find an original one like this Siata has- that I would leave it as it is.
It is an attention grabbing extremely cool car. and still one of the most delightful open air driving experience- while driving inches away from that wonderful Italian engine note. Like a gem needing it's final little polish. this rare shiny yellow micro roadster can star in any prestigious car show with very little effort. This car also represents a great investment. Micro Fiats and in particular special body ones are becoming a must have in every prestigious car collection and in the past year or two their value has started to rise rapidly.
