"THE CHERRY BOMB" as named by my 4 year old daughter

Everyone loves this car.  It has an attraction that can't be described.  This is the perfect car for anyone who has less of an interest in working on the drivetrain and mechanics of a car. and more of an interest in perfecting the aesthetics of the vehicle. This car will start in a single stroke when it's mid-February.  It is a BRAND NEW CAR from a mechanical perspective.  It's tuned to the finest firing timing with a new electronic ignition system. so it just runs like a dream.  As an aside. it also roars. and has plenty of guts whether you're at the line. or going 70mph.  All seat belts work allowing for both bench seats to fill up with a total of 6 people.  The trunk is so big you could rent it as an apartment in NYC (half of the trunk however is occupied by the 12" sub).  The newer top easily opens and closes. and the heat works like a charm - so hot summer nights can easily convert to cool summer eves.

Some bullet points on the vehicle:

-1970 Mercury Marquis Convertible

-I purchased from Washington State 2 years ago

-There is almost no rust to be found. and the interior is in brilliant shape

-The convertible top was replaced 2 years ago. as were the tires and the shocks

-The car underwent a paint job at some point. which was fairly well done

-It has glass packs and thick cast stainless steel straight pipes. so it roars nicely

-I have the complete shop manual on CD

Since purchase I have done the following:

-Installed a newly machined long block 1972 Ford truck engine. over-bored to 466 with performance cams and lifters (it has 100k warranty and only about 1000 miles on it as of now)

-Installed a 650CFM Edlebrock 4bbl with auto choke

-Rebuilt C6 Transmission (it has 50k warranty)

-Replaced rear springs

-Replaced radiator with oversized aluminum grade

-Replaced last 7' of dual exhaust system with thick cast stainless steel (not easy to bend!)

-Replaced hubs

-Rebuilt dash and installed GPS system (speedometer and fuel gauge work improperly. so the GPS works as a surrogate for both with a large graphic speedometer that's easy to read even in full sun)

-Installed performance stereo system with 19 speakers and 3 amplifiers (6 3-way speakers in front; 12" bass woofer in rear)

-Installed new faux-chrome runners on wheel wells and ground runs
