1930 Ford Model A

What you are looking at Is a traditional style hot rod this is NOT a rat rod!

History when we this car was built we not only wanted a traditional hot rod but wanted to build one of the most nostalgic hot rods to date. Rich Gortsema with Power Plus Hot Rods built this car in spoken Washington. The last thing we wanted to do was drop a Chevy 350 engine in this build so we searched high and low for a true vintage big block. The flat head was a option but did not provide enough power so when we came across a Buick 401 nail head it was the perfect solution for the build backed up by a turbo 400 transmission really giving this car a kick off the line. The

Engine has been completely rebuilt and bored. new pistons. rings. con rod bearings. main bearings. cam bearings. lifters. push rods. rocker arms. timing chain. timing gears. gaskets. rear main seal. oil pump. new camshaft. every thing was gone threw and replaced or rebuilt. The Engine is out fitted with a true nostalgic Carburetors Rochester 3 Deuce Tri-Power- Progressive linkage  set up! Allowing a incredible experience at full throttle! MSD ignition. The Headers are a one off custom 5” 90 degree dump these pipes are some of the largest I have ever seen. also have baffles inside that can be removed when you roll to the car shows. headers were recently sent off to Jet Hot and sprayed with ceramic high Performance Black coating.

Body 1930 model A sedan and has been Chopped 5” and Channeled 5” giving it the mean stance with the back window shrunk down to fit the new stance and the rear panel has been waffled out with a vintage Washington license plate. We had new wood roof kit and a custom tan top made with snap fittings to be removed and rolled up to set in the back on those sunny days! Custom bomber seats were made and swan shifter installed. Black dials and blinkers along with fire extinguisher mounted. You will also notice the steering arm is off of a old dirt track racer and adds to the traditional look. The windshield visor has 12 cut out holes.

Brakes and Wheels The Brakes are So-Cal disk Brakes with Buick Style drum covers. giving the performance of disk brakes put having the look of a vintage brake set up also recently added new master cylinder. Wheels are new Coker Wheels with the vintage V8 caps and new 3” white wall tubeless tires.

Stereo Installed professionally by custom sounds in Austin Tx we used Alpine amp. 4” speakers hide under the dash in the front and 6x9 hidden in what looks like a old trunk/suitcase in the back. the deck is also a alpine and has xm radio wired. I picked this deck because of the xm capability and the wireless remote that I mounted to the steering wheel to allow easy control while driving.

This car is a True hot rod and I have put over 4. 00 miles on it and have taking to lots of shows here in central Texas. Still to this day people love this car because of the traditional styling and vintage engine. If you are looking for a Hot rod that not only looks good but that you can drive enjoy and turn up the radio this is the hot rod for you! Feel free to contact me with any Question and if you are here in the Austin area and would like to see the car and go for a ride feel free to come down!
