1974 PLYMOUTH FURY 4dr HARTOP

For sale is this clean. low miles 74 Fury 4dr hardtop with all original paint & no rust in the body. frame. floors or trunk.  I bought this cool car in Kentucky summer of 2014 & drove it home.  It was a daily driver that I really enjoyed. so much so that I spent almost a grand having the air conditioning compressor replaced. new drier & actual freon replaced. Unfortunately I let a friend drive the car when his was in the shop. a heater hose busted but my friend kept on driving the car since he was only 5 miles from home.  By the time he got there the motor had overheated & the piston rings are now damaged.  Talk about a bad day for all involved.  The 400 used to run like a top with unlimited power now it turns over & attempts to fire & run but will not do so.  This car had the potential to be worth $4-5K before now its still a good looking. complete vehicle but it will need an engine rebuild.  The proof of my story is in the photos of the bill for the air conditioning work (nobody would spend that kind of money on a car that didnt run like a top) & the recent inspection sticker & certificate showing it was inspected this summer.

The cd radio is the only thing not original & it works with new speakers.  The vinyl top was about to be replaced at a cost of $500. The carpet is ripped on the drivers side: cost on ebay for a replacement is $120.  Depending on your choice of doing the job yourself. if you have a replacement engine ready or get a shop to do all the work you are looking at $1000 to $3000 to get the engine back to former specks.  You will NOT need to do anything with the transmission as it never needed a thing.  It has power front disc brakes & the brakes are all good.  I was running some really cool wheels & tires but the original 15X5. 5 wheels are now in place with a mismatched set of roller tires.  The rear end is in great condition.  The interior is comfortable & clean with no cracks in the dash. a perfect headliner & the seats are in great shape save a few light rips on the drivers side as seen in the photos.  This is a really special car: a one year c-body style with no body damage & entirely original paint.  The air conditioning WILL WORK when you get the engine in proper order.  This car has always been garaged or under a car port & until recently was always running.  I am selling cheap because the thought of what happened makes me sick. it was entirely preventable & the fact I have enough projects to keep me busy until well after my demise.  Hopefully somebody has an engine waiting to drop in this straight. rust free body.  If you do have a good 383 or 400 engine but not the desire to put it in this body please let me know. I may be interested should the vehicle not sell.

VA 24153. six miles from I81. mile marker 128. there is a truck stop at that exit that would make a perfect loading point & I will be happy to get it there.
