This is an extraordinary opportunity to secure a rare piece of motoring history.

I am listing this exceptionally rare motor vehicle for a personal friend. I have spent considerable time with this car over several years and have had the pleasure of driving it. The car is located in NSW and inspections are most welcome.

His description of ownership follows:

We bought the car in late 2005 in Edinburgh. Scotland and shipped it to Australia in February 2006. We had found the car through the UK Alvis club Scottish area President Robin Gilbert. Although it was never advertised as being for sale. Robin knew the owner who had spent a King's Ransom in having it restored by Scottish Restorations Ltd. the premier classic car restorer in the country. We have a full photographic record of the restoration including all body. trim. engine and all mechanical components. The owner's needs had changed and he was prepared to part with it even though it had almost no road use after the rebuild. Less than 50 drop head models of the TE21 were ever built. so we had to pay top dollar for it after the owner told us not to haggle.

The car had done 62. 00 miles when we bought it. shown on several MOT certificates we have. It now has 72. 00 miles on the clock. We have used it over the eight or nine years we have owned it to do a few classic car tours and for the odd holiday trip. plus some local runs around the Blue Mountains. It has been given the utmost care and attention in maintenance and whenever anything needed to be done it was carried out. regardless of cost to achieve the best results.

Several modifications to better suit the car to operation in the Australian climate have been carried out. These include heat insulation lining throughout the whole interior of the car. fitting of an electric water pump arrangement to run in combination with the thermostatic electric cooling fan. The mechanical water pump operates in series with this system. We have replaced the original sealed beam light units with identical quartz halogen units to improve night vision and safety.

Over the last year we have been through the car in detail and renewed or replaced everything we found not to be perfect. This includes renewing all the mechanical water pump drive system. which is a weak point in the design of the engine. We followed the advice of Red Triangle in the UK. who advocate upping the drive shaft dimensions and fitting a keyed shaft rather than the original unit. Whilst this work was being done. we had the radiator serviced and also replaced the switch gear on the thermo fan. We also reconditioned the brake master cylinder and replaced wheel cylinder seals where necessary.
