1939 Studebaker Express Coupe L-5 (1200 produced!). This truck as a 3 speed column shift transmission with overdrive. The truck was purchased by the current owner in 2012 from a collector in Montana. who had purchased it from South Dakota. The engine starts and runs well. no smoke or oil consumption. has been compression tested and has a rebuilt transmission (list of repairs to follow). The engine has not been rebuilt and the original mileage is not known.

A little information:
Cruises easily in overdrive on the freeway between 55-60mph.
The overdrive kick out switch was replaced on the shift lever in place of the foot switch.
Hill holder and freewheeling function properly.
All instruments within the cab work.
There is minor surface rust. but zero Bondo. This truck comes with two extra fenders and has beautiful patina.

NEW interior seat. cab. door panels. carpet. mats. visors and driver door latch
6 volt system all rewired and regrounded with a new battery
All glass and wipers have been replaced
Rebuilt overdrive transmission (free wheel) with optional column shift and hill holder
Restored 1939 Washington plates (included if purchased in the state of Washington)
NOS M-5 heater. hoses. shutoff valve. and defroster hoses
Rebuilt steering box and new leaf springs. NOS shocks
NOS steering wheel and horn assembly
New turn signals. wiring to all lights. NOS bulbs. lenses. and headlight buckets
Optional dual tail lights
New mirrors and optional inside rear view mirror
New rubber pedals. accelerator pedal and boot. pedal – floor covers
New logo seatbelts
Entire cab soundproofed
Rare stock radio included (not tested) and speaker grill (no speaker included)
Repainted logo hubcaps
Rubber seals for hood to cowl. door to body
NOS keys made for doors. ignition. and glove box
Motor and transmission mounts replaced – Schrock

Rebuilt and adjust entire brake system to stock
