SELLER REMARKS

If you're a fan of the "dare to be different" movement. then perhaps this sleek 1939 Studebaker Commander sedan will appeal to you. Already a slick design. it was enhanced with a bunch of custom tricks. then stuffed with a luxurious leather interior. a 502 inch big block. and lots of class.

At first glance. you might think this Stude's been chopped. but no. that's how they all looked. From the steeply raked windshield to the neatly proportioned greenhouse. this is how they rolled out of South Bend back in 1939. Of course. they didn't have the benefit of that gorgeous white pearl urethane. which has an incredible glow that just screams. "Show car!" All four doors fit well. which is twice the work of most rods. and the rest of the gaps along the hood and trunk are extremely sharp. The original trim. from the ultra-fine front grilles to the Art-Deco taillights. was expertly restored to show standards and it looks right on the vintage sedan. It shows a few signs of use. but if you're looking to be the center of attention at the next cruise night. few vehicles this side of a Lamborghini Aventador will do it better.

The leather-lined interior doesn't just show great upholstery work. but a fully crafted passenger compartment that's OEM in both design and execution. This isn't one of those rods with a set of modern seats thrown in. it has been completely redesigned to balance the original and new aspects of the car. Yes. there are stylish buckets and a rear bench upholstered to match. but take a moment to admire the wood inlays on the door panels. the restored window garnish moldings. and the matching center and overhead consoles. Then there's the beautiful dash. which was custom crafted just for this car and shows nicely integrated gauges. HVAC controls. and even LEDs for the shift indicator. A tilt column with a banjo-style steering wheel continues the woodgrained theme. and the Sony AM/FM/CD stereo sounds amazing thanks to extensive sound deadening materials. The trunk is tidy but not over-done. with carpet. matching embossed side panels. and even a space-saver spare. meaning this Stude was built for the road.

Cruising is easy. even in this big sedan. thanks to 502 cubic inches of motivational power. Edelbrock supplied both the car and the intake. which live under a '50s Cadillac air cleaner that's a popular custom part. Everything has been either color-matched to the body or polished. including the accessory drive system. the Gen IV valve covers. and the power brake system. Underneath. there's a Mustang II front suspension with power rack-and-pinion steering and disc brakes. while a 700R4 4-speed means that it cruises like a modern Cadillac. The original frame has been reinforced for the added horsepower. and a custom Flowmaster dual exhaust system weaves through the chassis to a pair of polished tips out back. Classic chrome steelies with baby moon hubcaps really work. especially when they're wrapped in 15-inch BFG Silvertown wide whitewall radials.

Impressive doesn't even begin to cover this amazing Studebaker. Fully sorted. it can drive coast-to-coast and collect trophies once it gets there. Isn't it time to think outside of the box? Call today!
