You will be hard pressed to find a nicer Mercedes 240d 4-speed sedan.   This car spent the majority of its life in Southern California. and is rust. dent and accident free.   It  appears to have one repaint. but it is difficult to tell.   I purchased this car to make long commutes because of its quality and economy. but my situation has changed. and I no longer commute (and I have other cars).   The car came with a known engine problem but I have a friend that is a Mercedes mechanic. and a low mileage engine (170K) from a 1982 Mercedes that was rear ended was selected to replace the original engine.   The engine was tested before purchase.   During the engine swap. a new clutch was installed along with a master cylinder and brake booster.   All systems including the A/C were serviced and work well.   The car runs. drives and shifts great with no known problems.   I purchased the car to keep. and anything that needed attention was fixed.   The oil pressure is strong. it passed Oregon DEQ emissions and is licensed in my name until 2016.    I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere.

The interior is very nice with the exception of the driver's side seat back. which is warn on the edge (photo attached).   The dash has the normal "Mercedes cracks" that 95% of them have. but the car comes with a dash cover.   The power sunroof works well. has no leaks.  and the headliner is in great condition.   This car has manual windows. so no problems with power windows not working.   The speedometer shows 67K miles. but I have no way of knowing if is accurate. as CarFax does not provide information on cars this old.   There are nicks and chips (no dents) normal with any car this age that have been touched up with factory color paint.   The car has been detailed. and the tires are in great condition.

The reserve is modest and low for the quality of this vehicle.   Feel free to email or call me at (971) 235-3804 with your questions or to arrange for an inspection--Bill
