Original window sticker, documentation, southern car

This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL has only had 2 owners from new. It was originally sold by Intercontinental Motors in Houston. TX on April 28. 1987 where it remained there until 2006 before finding its way to Oklahoma. We acquired it from the second owner who only drove it as a summer cruiser and put less than 5k miles on it in a 10 year period. It is very clean inside and out. and has been sorted and is ready to participate at car shows. or used as an excellent driver.

This 560SL had an original MSRP of $58. 50. 00 and comes with the original window sticker. original purchase order. metal data plate. paper data card. books. manuals. and a folder of service records. The paint is Signal Red (568) over black leather (271) with a black soft top.  The vehicle has only 50. 00 miles on it. and has NEVER been in any accidents or had any paintwork done. and has a clean Carfax.  The vehicle has beautiful hand painted black accent stripes which the paperwork shows being done by the dealer before delivery.

It has never seen a winter and is rust free underneath. It is the way it came from the factory; nothing has been painted to hide anything.   In addition to the newer soft top. the vehicle comes with a matching hard top. The oil & filter was just changed. and 4 brand new Michelin Premier tires were installed. The spare appears to be original and never been used. The A/C has been converted to R-134a and blows ice cold. Both fuel pumps and filter have been replaced. Both hood insulation pads (yes there are 2) were just replaced with genuine Mercedes parts. These are known for deteriorating and falling apart onto the engine.

This 560SL is very mechanically sound. and needs nothing for a cross-country trip if you choose. When buying a classic car such as this. it comes with the documentation and provenance that you desire. There are a few small things shown in the photos that I would like to mention… there is a hairline scratch on the right rear quarter panel that was professionally filled in before we got the vehicle. It can be re-sprayed to make it perfect. but we chose against that for originality. There is a small crack on the top of the dash just below the windshield. And a small ding above the driver side headlight which a good paintless dent removal person could take out. Have confidence when bidding on this excellent SL. we describe all of our vehicles honestly so that there are no surprises.
