This most fascinating and fantastic looking Austin special was originally produced as a saloon and somewhat later turned into a special for driving test use by Richard Hutchings.

It was then purchased by its ex RAF and BA pilot owner in around 1990 who over the next 14 years used his huge engineering knowledge and expertise to turn the car into the basis of the striking yellow and black ‘Special' I now own.
Fully equipped with cycle wings and brackets. which are easily fitted if desired.

It is fully wired for front lights and the front wings have lovely Lucas side lights attached.
The engine has been meticulously re-built using a Phoenix crankshaft of 1 5/16. Ulster type tappets. high compression head and tubular exhaust manifold and a close ratio gearbox with Eltos remote change.

It currently runs a Dellorto carburetor and Bosch ignition with an alternator cleverly hidden in the passenger foot-well driven by the prop-shaft.
