Condition: the vehicle is just the same as it was in the movie. I did not want to alter anything on it and kept it in movie condition. It is just as rough as seen on film. The studio used a black convertible soft top. which did not come with the vehicle when I bought it. However. a hard top was provided and is installed on the vehicle now. The drivetrain is fair and runs ok but could use a restoration. The 4x4 works and brakes are fair. (Front disc brakes).
Authenticity - I was not able to get in touch with the prior to pervious owners for movie documentation. I Spoke with the transportation captain from the movie and he said he remembers the vehicle but did not keep documentation that old. regarding being able to authenticate it with the VIN number. However. if you compare details of the vehicle in the movie to the scout. you will see that it is the same vehicle.
