This is a pretty nice 1981 Camaro coupe. This belonged to a old man that had a lingering illness. The car sat in a carport for over 10 years while he was in a nursing home. The car has always been a southwest desert car and has zero rust on it. It had a near perfect body. It needed no bodywork at all other than sanding the sun baked paint. I bought it and had it painted the original color with the original sport wheels that came on the car. It shows 93. 00 miles and change. I have no reason to think this is not the actual mileage. I had to check my books. but these did come with the Buick 231 V6. These are bulletproof motors as witnessed by the Grand Nationals. There are new tires. belts. hoses. major tune up. motor mounts. freeze plugs. water pump. battery and of course all fluids. antifreeze. lubrication and other odds and ends that the car needed to be back on the road. the car runs a drives wonderfully with no rattles or squeaks and the suspension is tight as a tick. The big problem is that the original carburetor is very trashy. This is the first year for the computer carburetor and from what I gather. these are really the dark ages of technology. The car will start right up and idle perfectly until every once in a while the check engine light comes on and then it shakes and shutters like a dog shitting a peach pit. The light will go out shortly and it will run well again. People tell me you can simply put on a non computer carburetor and it will work fine. I am torn between just putting in a V8 with regular stuff on it or keeping this as built. My bigger problem is I like cars of the forties and fifties and this car really has a lot of plastic on it that Just turns me off.

This is a above average car as 81 Camaros go. but my heart is just not in it. This is an excellent opportunity for one of those father son projects that has a bunch of nit picky small projects that can be done in a day or a weekend that would give immediate gratification. What the car needs is the final detailing like the headliner trim needs to be reinstalled. the driver seat bottom has a wear area. It is not torn up. seat covers will work or go ahead and get the factory upholstery kit. It really only needs the one seat bottom. but I think you have to buy the set. The carpet will shampoo clean and the dash pad has a crack. The factory AM radio works. but really. who cares? The tail lights are Ok but you can see the desert sun has cooked them up. Unlike most Camaro/Firebirds. these doors open and close well.

As I said earlier. the car is very quiet running down the street. You can tell this car was not beat up by some teenager.   I have a clear Arizona title on it. The usual rules apply;  VERY IMPORTANT; ask your wife. lover. kids. pets. priest. No Nigerian princes. I can ship this anywhere. This has a clear Arizona title. Funds must clear my bank before the car leaves my possession. No trades. No Paypal.  Good luck. bid well and bid often. Check my other auctions .
