I am selling my beloved 1983 Mazda B2000 utility. We bought this ute 5 years ago. in need of restoration but with a really good body. Another positive was the very-long tray. for the size of the ute. At this time. the engine was completely rebuilt by The Complete Engine Company in Braeside. with a new clutch & reconditioned radiator fitted at the same time. A Luminition electronic ignition system was installed as well. Also. new gas shocks were fitted all-round. whilst the front bushes. tie-rods & ball-joints were all replaced. A new (classic style) tonneau cover was fitted. whilst the seats were reconditioned & retrimmed. I was able to source a NOS genuine Mazda set of Bongo driving lights (with factory switch-gear & genuine covers). along with stainless steel wheel-arch trims. The ute has been completed as a mild-custom. with a hand-made aluminium-clad grille. modified Plymouth hubcaps (with imported period Mazda-rotary badges) and fresh whitewall flappers. I have done my utmost to retain the ute's genuine patina & aged appearance. whilst updating the running gear for reliability. The body has the usual minor marks. dings. scratches & imperfections expected of a commercial vehicle over 30 years old. There is very little rust. Since then. the old girl has done around 25K kms. The carburetor was professionally reconditioned within the past 2 years. whilst a new Sony Xplod stereo & speakers were fitted less than a year ago. To obtain a RWC. new bushes were fitted to the front of the rear-spring eyes (all new remaining bushes for the rear are included). I had her professionally serviced at the same time. I have also obtained many spares - low km diff centre. VGC steering box (from a drag racer). NOS genuine sill & shroud panels (base of windscreen). spare original grille. rear window glass & a boss kit for a sports steering wheel (has a Isuzu horn button. but allegedly suits a B2000. ). I also bought a freshly-ground Motor Improvements performance camshaft. which is designed for low-mid range grunt. There is a also a rebuild kit for the front brakes. Finally. I have collected a series of workshop manuals. This includes a Haynes guide for thee Mazda utes. a genuine Ford Courier (badge engineering) workshop manual & supplement. I am happy to liase with a transport company. to assist with (organised by you) interstate transport.
