The Plymouth Cambridge. was a full-size automobile. produced by the Plymouth division of Chrysler. from 1951-1953. It represented Plymouth's medium model in its lineup. When it was introduced. it came with new features such as electronic windshield wipers and downdraft carburetors. It also had "Safe-guard" brakes. that had two hydraulic cylinder per front wheel instead of just one
Here are some notes from the previous owner regarding this fine vehicle:
I purchased this Plymouth Cambridge from my friend in New York 2 years ago. He was going to give it to the Chrysler museum. But I asked him if I could buy it of him and take it to live in England.
I have kept the car serviced and garaged all of the time that i have owned it.
The car has won many Awards in America and we won best Classic in show at the Museum of Power's American car show in Maldon.
Below are some comments from previous owners. The rest is history.
Restored in Arizona by a very wealthy individual for nostalgic reasons. This was recreated as a replica of the taxis this individual used at the start of his lucrative business career.
Expense was no object as I have the receipts totaling over $29. 00.
The flathead six with 3-on-the-tree and overdrive create a fun driving experience. We used it upon our purchase in AZ as a vacation vehicle traveling from Phoenix to Tucson and north to Show Low. The odometer at purchase showed 16. 52 miles and as of this writing it has 18. 45 miles. The earliest date on the papers relating to the restoration show a mileage of 16. 23 in January of 1997. So seven hundred miles were incurred between then and 2005 when I purchased the vehicle. I was told that it was driven each year enough to get the engine warm and maintain proper fluid movement.
I have paperwork listing complete restoration. again at a total cost of over $29. 00. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone interested in acquiring a beautiful piece of Americana and enjoying traveling to shows or as far as you care to go.
I have had many comments about the finish of the car and statements as to the quality of the paint job and overall restoration.
I stress again. any serious purchaser must come and see the quality and originality of the car.
I'm happy to P/X the car with anything of interest.
Thank You
