1968 Mercedes-Benz 200D Sedan
I am selling this car for a friend who bought this to restore but his wife decided he already has too many of them…. unrestored…. so this one has to go.
He bought the car in Sherman Texas in the summer of 2013 and had it shipped to Port Huron Michigan where he picked it up and drove it to London. Ontario. Canada and then recently driven to MY home to sell so I am assuming the motor. drive train. brakes and lights are functioning properly. The motor seems to run very strong and smooth and the brakes are very good with a hard pedal. My friend claims he would not be afraid to drive it all the way to California without worrying about it letting him down.
The car has air conditioning which seems to blow “cool” but not cold. Probably needs some attention. Being a southern A/C car it also has tinted windows.
The car seems very solid and free of any serious penetrating or damaging rust. There IS rust penetration behind the driver side rear wheel well at the bottom where the quarter panel meets the outer wheel well and can be seen in the pictures. There are rusty bolts and surface rust on the undercarriage of the car that shows up worse in the pictures than they really are because the car is white. There is a 1 inch square rust hole in the inner rocker cap behind the passenger side front wheel as can be seen in the pictures.
The car seems VERY solid throughout the body and frame.
The tires seem to be very new with very little wear.
