EXTERIOR
This is one of the very rare CSL's to have made it through the last 40 years without requiring a restoration. It has been in the careful hands of the same owner since 1979 and always kept in his heated garage. There are a few age related marks in the paint work and a couple of bubbles of light surface corrosion but none of the normal CSL week spots have required repair of welding. The car is ready to enjoy in its current condition or could be further improved if required.

INTERIOR
Again the interior is completely original. the seats and carpets are all in very good condition with only a small amount of age related wear. The dash is in great condition and other than a few cracks to the lacquer the wood is also very good. The car has a lovely feel when you are sitting in the cockpit and the low window line gives you a great view of the passing countryside.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
In 1978 at 95. 66 miles the car had a brand new replacement engine and gearbox fitted at a BMW dealer. Since then it has been with the same owner who has only covered 11. 00 miles and always kept the car garaged and in constant use. There is an extensive history file showing many replacement parts and service items. The car starts on the button and pulls well through the gears.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The standard 14" CSL wheels are in excellent condition and have benefited from a recent refurbishment. they are shod in a matching set of Michelin tyres. The brakes work well and pull the car up smoothly in a straight line.

HISTORY FILE
This CSL was originally sold by BMW Chipstead of Kensington and most of its mileage was done in the early years by the first owner. In 1978 the car then benefited from a brand new engine and gearbox at a BMW dealer which is fully documented in the history file.

The current owner has had the car since 1979 and has done an excellent job of keeping it in its original condition. there is a history box full of receipts documenting the replacement parts and service items used. There are also lots of MOT certificates to verify the mileage and lots of the old tax disks.

The current owner has also been an active member of the BMW Car Club and the CSL Register so there are also some membership letters and correspondence in the file.
