1983 Pininfarina Spider 2000 Abarth Tribute

 So. what would an Abarth Fiat production 124 car look like?   What if Fiat and Abarth teamed up to contend the 124 in 1970's sanctioned road course racing and hill climbs?

We know Abarth had lots of success with the 124 in club racing.  The car for sale is my vision of how that production car would look and perform.

I currently campaign a 1977 Fiat 124 race car in HSR and VDCA.   My goal was to incorporate the same improved infrastructure. road holding and performance upgrades that has placed my race car on many podiums over the years into this vision of an Abarth tribute.

I started with the most collectable 124 road version today: a very well preserved low mileage 1983 Pininfarina Spyder Europa (VIN ZFRAS00B3D5502403).   The car has the bulletproof 2. 0-liter Bosch fuel injected dual overhead cam engine mated with the dependable. smooth and highway friendly 5 speed manual transmission.   This car's original interior was in fantastic shape and the previous owner (who owned several Harley Davison dealerships in and around Cleveland) painted the car British Racing green.

I basically completed a “frame on” restoration of the car using all new parts from Vick's Auto Sports. International Auto Parts. Auto Ricambi. Allison's Automotive and other reputable suppliers of Fiat performance parts.

 Here is a summary of the enhancements and improvements completed:

 Brakes:

Vicks's new “Prima” high performance front disc brakes. vented rotors & racing pads.

Auto Ricambi rear calipers. pads & rotors (note: emergency brake deleted).

New brake master cylinder. manifold and brake booster valve.

New brake lines on all corners.

Suspension & steering:

New KYB gas shocks on all corners

New “A” arm bushings and ball joints

Vick's high performance springs (lowered 1. 5 inches)

New set of OEM trailing arms

New rear panhard rod & bushings

Vicks high performance front anti sway bar with Poly bushings

New steering idler arm

Drive train:

New universal joints. flex disk and main drive shaft support bushing & bearing.

New OEM motor mounts

Engine & Exhaust:

All belts. gaskets and filters were replaced.

Vick's high performance header and 2. 25 inch exhaust system & stainless tip.

New high performance dry coil. electronic ignition and pick up coil

New high performance spark plug wire harness

New high performance fuel pump and fuel lines

New Bosch spark plugs

Cooling:

New OEM radiator

New water pump

New Thermostat and all new hoses

New high performance radiator cooling fan and temp switch

Body and appearance:

Abarth bumperetts front and rear

Custom front Abarth turn signal kit

New upper stainless steel front grille

Vicks front spoiler

New Abarth badges. Pininfarina medallions and Custom Abarth/Fiat hood medallion

Antique fog lamps (with discreet interior switch)

New doorsill OEM chrome “spears” (made in Italy)

Brand new convertible top with custom boot cover

Wheels and tires:

New 15 x 7 Rota performance wheels with Abarth center caps and chrome lugs

New 205/50/15 Dunlop Direzzas on all four corners

Comes with original OEM spare tire. jack and tools

Paperwork:

All receipts for labor and parts since I purchased the car in August 2014 ($20. 00+)

This car drives better than new. enjoys spirited driving and stops on a dime.   It turns heads and gathers crowds wherever it goes.   I've sorted out all the issues.
