Description of the 1963 Traveller (as seen on Fletch's Classic Resto's)
And Vogue wedding special edition.

Do you want to be different? Cool? Funky? Ooze style? Yet still go as fast and as hard around a corner as a Cooper S and have an actual rare mini.

More than just an investment . rom the exterior this car seems completly original other than the reversed cooper S rims. it has been upgraded in every way possible so that it can be enjoyed on any windy road or to keep up with any modern traffic conditions without falling to pieces.

Full photographic record showing that this car has had a complete bare metal restoration *every surface was sandblasted and any panel with rust or holes replaced. and any panel deemed too thin also after blasting also replaced*. It was done on a rotisary with every surface repaired and treated. underside and cavitys are waxoiled *not that it has ever been driven in the rain* all mechanicals have been replaced with or upgraded to Cooper S or better components.

Body:Full Sandblast with all rusted panels replaced. Exterior is painted to show quality. All rubber seals replaced. All glass replaced. all window running sills replaced. All interior including all carpet. seats. and trim either retrimmed or replaced. To this day the seats still ride high *ie: no sprig compression or sag* due to lack of use.
Special attention was paid to the wing mirrors so they are now sprung *ie if clipped they will spring rather than bending the panel they are attatched to*

Engine: A 1275 taken to first overbore of 1293. with a Waggot Bro's flowed head. Graham Russel Cam. roller rockers. Isky 8k springs. S rods. all new components *ie; oil pump. double row timing chain. starter motor. solenoid. alternator. high performance fuel pump. new LCB extractors etc. * Carburetters are Twin 1 1/2" SU's with BG green needles.

Gearbox: A 5 speed manual! fully rebuilt with 3. 71 diff and a re-engineered reverse shaft) This means you don't have to rev it to pieces if you plan on a highway/freeway drive. Less revs = less stress on the engine and longer engine life.

All suspension upgraded to fully adjustable *caster/camber and ride height* new bushes all round.

This car has been serviced and looked after by Link Automotive in Mitchem *over 40 years experience in performance mini's*
I am more than happy for you to contact Brian the head mechanic/owner and ask any question you wish about this car.

There would be lucky to be 10 of these cars in the country that have had a rebuild to this standard. there would be another 10 with older restorations and at least another 10-20 stuck in garrages that will be in some form of rebuild or wishfull thinking.

If you want a mini that is different. rare. fast. fun. immaculate condition and can fit 4 people in it as well as luggage in the back for picnic or travelling adventures. then you can go no better than the Morris mini Traveller (also known as the Austin mini Countryman under the Austin badge).

If required comes with a RWC. but Historic Rego is NON transferrable.
I suffer a mild case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. so no muddy boots are allowed in my cars. It will not be driven on wet roads or in the rain.

If this car fails to find a home on Ebay then it will probably be listed in the Shannons Melbourne Spring Auction
