EH EJ 1963 Holden UTE in Horsham, VIC

Up for auction today is my 1963 Holden ute. I purchased this ute in 2005 as an unfinished project. Basically the body work and paint had already been completed but it only came as a painted shell and panels. The colour is original EJ commercial 'Wedgewood Blue' 2pak. Over the next 3 years I added all of the running gear. wheels and tyres. glass. rubber kit and trim.

The ute has been built to an authentic 1970's theme (period old skool!) which has always been my favourite look with these old classics. The ute was finally finished in late 2008 and breezed through full Victorian roadworthy and rego. Since that time I have only used it for a couple of car shows and the occasional coffee run into town. Due to the lack of use I switched to club permit rego in 2010 which it still runs today. This rego is NOT transferrable so the ute is sold unregistered.

Over the last 2 years the ute has only been out of the shed a handful of times so hence I have decided to give someone the chance to purchase and enjoy it. It starts first time every time and does not need any money spent on it. It turns heads every time I get it out and everyone loves the period old school look. Below is a full list of details the ute offers:

Mechanical - 179 HP red motor with a nice lumpy cam; 3-speed non-synchro gear box with original column shift; 3. 36 HR Holden diff and brakes; fully rebuilt HR disc brake front end; lowered suspension front and rear; all running gear has been acid-stripped and repainted. sports exhaust with old skool side pipe exiting in front of RH rear wheel. Please note: the custom piston styled rocket cover lock down pins are NOT included in this sale - they will be replaced with allen key bolts.

Wheels - Genuine old skool 13" x 7" US racing mags; rear tyres 225/60 Dunlop Le Monz; front tyres 195/65 Bridgestones.

Interior - Full retrim using quality materials; original ute bench seat retrimmed in 2-tone grey to original EJ commercial pattern; also has original parcel shelf flap attached to back of seat; door trims are original EH premier items also trimmed in matching 2-tone grey; premier arm rests trimmed in light grey; headlining is a top quality imported grey vinyl; carpets are quality plush pile which are custom made (not cheap moulded ones); lap sash seatbelts are fitted with the ugly top external bolt removed and refitted to inside of pillar for a smoother external finish; period Speco sports steering wheel to match the old skool theme.

NASCO accessories - There are a host of NASCO accessories fitted including rear venetian blind. radio (with concealed aerial). outer door handle scratch plates. chrome scuff plates under the doors. external driver's door frame mirror and tow bar fitted with removable tongue.

Other details

The rear tray area is also painted body colour with a carpeted front bulkhead panel. The wooden floor board is painted with cargo runners. The rear section of the board is removable to allow extra access to the spare wheel recess. There are probably other items which I have been overlooked but feel free to ask sensible questions and I will answer them honestly.

This is not a desperate sale and I have set a very reasonable reserve. If the ute doesn't sell within a month. I will put it back in the shed. Please no time wasters. dreamers or story tellers.
