1920 Humber 15. 9hp 3. 0 litre saloon

Chassis Number:4658
Registration number CE7392

Just a handful of these beautiful cars remain & this must rank amongst the most original. The car has covered a scant & verifiable 25. 00 miles from new. This is a side valve 15. 9hp model of 1920 of the early type with one door per side; both being to the rear compartment. The front seat swivels ingeniously allowing access to the front compartment.

The car retains its very ornate factory fitted interior which is a work of art boasting a myriad of period details. Hat racks to the ceiling. C. A. Vanderveld Lights & control panel. Bedford cord to the seating surfaces. period door pulls. & masses of Brocade trimming make the cabin a truly beautiful place to be. all in a wonderful state of preservation. One simply has to see it to believe how well it has survived.

The car is fitted with its original engine & transmission including the original leather cone clutch which has never been replaced. The car is totally complete down to the original handbook delivered with the car. Both Male & female requisite sets are present with original contents. Vis silver pen. notebook. mirror. scent bottle. clothes brush. etc etc. A sharply angled "V" screen is mounted up front covered by a huge overhang from the roof.

The engine is a three litre side valve mated to a four speed gear box; the change being to the right hand side. The car runs on beaded edge tyres fitted to artillery style wheels. The front axle is brakeless as was the custom at the time. The car is equipped with its original undertrays. a side mount spare & a running board tool box full of Humber tools. A large quantity of spares come with the car including an engine. diff. gear box. etc etc etc which whilst not having been needed does give the owner peace of mind. The car is in mechanically super order starting easily & running strongly. Under the bonnet the car is well detailed with large tools present & a very original un "got at" look to the whole ensemble.

The body has had a high quality respray in a fetching mid blue over black. the paint being in superb show quality condition. This is a car of superb quality & makes a great alternative to a 20hp Rolls Royce. The rear axle had a very slight noise so a new crown gear has been cut & will be fitted prior to the car coming to us.

The car is due in shortly once probate has passed on the late owners Irish estate.
