About to arrive with us from Dublin.

A stunning little vintage car that has undergone an extensive nut & bolt restoration of all aspects of body. interior & Mechanics.

The Weyman body is in perfect order covered in black fabric with no rips or tears whatsoever. It is as new. The bonnet & wings are coach painted by hand in black. The car boasts a huge full length sunroof for alfresco motoring. The sunroof is simplicity in itself requiring just two front thumb screws to be undone prior to grasping a single handle & folding it back on itself in one smooth motion. The windscreen folds open & all four doors have sliding windows fitted to them which gets a lovely air flow coming through the car. The doors are a perfect fit opening & shutting precisely.

The mechanics are also in superb condition having been extensively rebuilt. The engine starts instantly on the choke & settles down to an easy idle. With such a light fabric body the car pulls surprisingly hard from its 1200cc 4 cylinder engine cruising on the flat at 50mph & pulling well up hills. recourse to second only being required on the steeper inclines. The three speed box is sweet & easy to use being set up in a reverse H pattern.

The car sits on red artillery wheels & has a capacious motoring trunk to the rear giving storage for picnic blankets & a suitable repast. A running board mounted shell fuel can is fitted & a spare tyre to the rear. A mellow klaxon horn lurks under the bonnet & a winged viking mascot resides on the prow.

The interior is beautiful brand new red leather seating with brown carpets to the floor. A jaunty grey & black check pattern carpet style fabric covers the sides & door cards. All the interior is totally refinished including the wooden dash board. A full compliment of instruments is fitted to the dash including a non original temperature gauge & ammeter.

Driving this car is a wonderful experience. There is comfortable upright seating for four full sized adults & the car is very easy to get into. Brakes are excellent having been relined during restoration. Oil pressure runs at a steady 30PSI & temperature at 60 degrees rising to 80 or so when stopped in traffic. After taking delivery I drove it into central London & back. a journey of some 80 miles with no problems whatsoever & approbation from all who saw us.

These rovers. particularly in Weyman form are incredibly rare cars. with few having survived. It is a great alternative to an Austin or Morris. having spacious seating & a good turn of speed & real quality in its construction. The car needs nothing at all & is ready for immediate use.

I have a family photograph of possibly a Rover Weyman 1929. it has description on reverse saying it has a covered body on an Ash framework. can you help me to understand this description , it appears to mean covered with fabric?
