Genuine reason for sale

It is with real regret that I am having to sell my beloved Audi S3 as I am getting divorced.

Background information

I searched long and hard to find an original Audi S3 that had not been modified in any way. had not been thrashed to within an inch of it's life. had not been used on track and came with a file fully documenting all the work it has had done since it rolled out of the factory on 3rd September 2001. I tracked this one down at a specialist VW/Audi garage and bought it on 16th December 2012.  They described it as 'the best one they've ever seen' and for it's age. it really is in great condition.  Before I took delivery of it. it had a full 'Gold' hpi check and a full inspection and service by their main dealer trained technicians.  They even sold it to me with warranty. despite it's age.

History

The car comes with a full history folder documenting everything that it has ever had done to it from new.  This ranges from all the major 'peace of mind' work you would expect to have been carried out including a new clutch. slave cylinder and fly wheel. timing belt (cam). tensioner. ribbed belt and water pump. to less obvious but nonetheless essential work such as replacing the suspension arms. anti roll bars. suspension bushes and shock absorbers.  It has also had all the usual routine work carried out as part of the cars regular servicing.  (This history folder will obviously come with the car).

Factory fitted options

Full black leather electric Recaro interior
Polished metal wing mirror caps

Interior

The Recaro interior is in as new condition. Both front seats are perfect with no wear to any of the bolsters.  The rear bench seat literally looks like it has never been sat on!  All the electrics work as they should. the stereo works perfectly and all the dials and switches work perfectly.

Bodywork

The paint is in great condition with no fading. The shut lines are all perfect and as far as I know it has never been crashed or painted.  There are no dents at all and I mean none. it's completely straight.

Tyres

It has four matching Continental Pilot Sport tyres with plenty of tread left on them.  These tyres are truly superb.

Since I have owned it I have done the following:

Fitted a K&N air filter.  This fits directly into the standard air box so the engine bay looks standard. it just helps the engine to breathe much better than the standard Audi paper air filter.

Stage 1 engine remap increasing the BHP from the standard 210BHP to 260BHP and also increasing the torque.

My dad has a small car valeting business that he set up when he retired. so the car has been cleaned using top end products every week.  It's really been pampered.

To be open and honest. these are the things that are not perfect with the car:

Interior

If I am being picky. there is some light wear to some of the heating control switches on the centre consol.  There is some wear starting to appear on the drivers side floor mat. The drivers side plastic running board. which sits on the sill. has a small crack in it.

Front windcreen

I picked up a stone chip recently on the front windscreen.  I have had it professionally repaired by Autoglass. but you can still see where it chipped.  It's not in your line of vision and is directly underneith the rear view mirror. I'd just rather mention it.

Wheels

There is some curbing to the front offside wheel.  I have been meaning to get all four wheels refinished. but haven't got round to it.

Bodywork

There is a tiny amount (less than the size of a 1p piece) of laquer lifting on the front drivers side wing.  This has been caused by a stone chip.  There are some stone chips to the front bumper and bonnet. but nothing noticeable. At the very corner of the tailgate on the passenger side there is a tiny chip of paint missing.  It looks as if (and I am guessing) that it has been closed against something at some point.  It isn't bent at all. it's just starting to rust lightly and needs rubbing down and painting.  You'd be hard pressed to notice it. but I want to be 100% honest about anything and everything that I am not happy with. The rubbing strip on the driver side door has been opened onto something at some point in its life and is dented on the very door edge and the paint has cracked.  This would be easy to either hae painted or replaced.

If you want to buy it:

I think that's about it?  I have tried to put as much information as I can and been as honest as I can.   I am not interested in a part exchange.  I have the V5C and MOT. as well as the service book. owners manual and all the other original booklets that came with it.  It does only have one ignition key.  If you want to take it for a test drive you will need to be able to demonstrate that you have suitable insurance to do so.  I am happy to take you out in it if not.  If you want to buy it. I will require a deposit of £250. 00 within 24 hors of the auction finishing and the balance of the money will need to have cleared in my account before I let you drive the car away. Cheers. Simon
