The Rolls Royce was coined the "Best Car in the World" in 1906. Over 100 years later. much has changed but the phrase remains true. Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this very rare 1926 Rolls Royce Twenty. chassis # GZK53.

This Rolls Royce showcases an older restoration along with a recent. extensive engine rebuild at a cost of over $11. 00. The body is finished in burgundy & black with a tan convertible top. The Rolls Royce chassis measuring at 129-inch wheelbase. vintage 20-inch wire wheels are wrapped in 6. 00-20 Denman Rayon Whitewall Tires. complete with a matching rear-mount spare.

During the mid 1930s. the 1920s designed Rolls Royce cars were becoming out of fashion. The chassis however remained extremely servicable and durable. Two London coachbuilders were utilized to construct updated bodies. the most exclusive of these was the Three-Position Drophead Coupe. The Drophead Coupe body was based on the superior post 1925 Rolls Royce chassis. chosen for the 4-wheel braking system. The body was further updated with vertical radiator shutters and more modern steering wheel. This example features these unique features along with a later leather upholstery & antique woodwork. Little history is available on these unique Rolls Royce cars. This car body was believed to have been built by Brewster.

The convertible canvas top and framework are in exceptional condition. paired with a glass rear window.

The convertible top folds back with ease. the landau bars retract the top assembly.

Open the doors to the luxury of yesterday. This is a right-hand drive example.

The dash retains its fascinating vintage gauges and controls along with this beautiful correct steering wheel. Many of these gauges are functional with exception of the speedometer and clock. The engine itself was recently completely overhauled and retains excellent oil pressure. The charging system is working and the horn is also working.

The interior features vintage leather throughout and antique woodwork.

These cars are becoming increasingly difficult to find. the majority exchanging hands privately or though an exclusive public auction.

The headlamps glow. These vintage lamps display a small badge with Lucas "King of the Road" on each.

The gearbox is the 4-speed manual. The emergency brake is also in place.

Unique details abound on this vintage 1926 Rolls Royce Drophead Coupe.

The Rolls Royce 20HP inline-6 cylinder engine was recently overhauled at a cost of approximately $11. 00.

The 1926 Rolls Royce chassis features 1st year 4-wheel brakes along with a solid front axle and live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs.

The identification plaques are in place. There is a plaque on either side of the firewall. This is chassis # GZK53.

Close inspection of the paint finish will identify areas of lacquer checking along with various chips and touch-up. The car was recently professionally polished and a sealer applied. This proud car is proudly display in our Dallas. Texas showroom.
