'41 WILLYS

The latest of Mark Riley's unique rides is this authentic metal 1941 Willys Street Rod ( with a '40 nose) featuring an Art Morrison frame that was slightly stretched a bit all the way around to maximize track width and  improve handling. The Willys features a GM 4L60E transmition. The list of suspension components include: 9 inch rearend. 3. 70 gears. Wilwood disc brakes and 275/40ZR 18 BFGoodrich KDW tires. The wheels were designed and built by Wheel Vintiques. The faux steedies feature brown-painted centers and a '53 Willys-style center cap. to give them that classic feel. The front suspension utilizes a tubular IFS. with minor tweaks made to compensate for the Willys' smaller dimensions. Riley's '41 features Mopar's newest  Hemi. a 5. 7-liter fuel injected engine under the hood. The JEGS. com engine is internally stock. but despite its small size. isn't short on power.   Mopar claims 360 net hp vs 425 gross hp for the original 426 Hemi. The exterior is highlighted by Hot Hues Black paint and Woody's custom fabricated the stainless trim along the nose and sides and installed a set of Lokar taillights. A single bench seat from a Pontiac Grand Prix dominates the interior. with Woody's describing the upholstrey as “school bus brown”. as it covers nearly everything inside but the dash and floor.   Woody's designed the custom dash. placing a Willy's crest above a pair of Classic instruments. This car. too. features Hod Rod Air A/C and a custom Autosound stero complete with a CD changer.   Final details include a Flaming River steering wheel and Lokar shifter and pedals.
