1935 Buick Series 40, 46-C Convertible - Rumble Seat - Spectacular! for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.1) based on 531 votes

This is an original 1935 Buick Series 40 46-C with less than 14. 00 miles on the odometer.   As the photos depict. this is a convertible with a rumble seat. optional side mount spare tires. trunk. and working tube radio.   This car is more stunning in person than what the photos depict.   This is a head-turning car!

This gorgeous convertible was fully restored in the early nineties.   My father owned it since the late nineties.   I have a clear title in my name.

My understanding is that there were approximately 900 46-C's built in 1935 and less than a handful survive today.   Unfortunately. some of the survivors have been demolished into hotrods leaving just a few originals intact.   This is a unique opportunity to own an almost “one of a kind” original.

The body is in excellent condition – all metal – I can find no sign of any repairs.   No detectible signs of any rust.   The paint is in very good condition with only a small chip here and there.   No fading or weather damage to the paint.   Very shiny and reflective.   Car ALWAYS stored indoors since my father's acquisition.

The canvas top is in excellent condition with no stains. fading or thread/seam separation.   There is a matching transportation cover for when the top is folded down.

Chrome bumpers are very shinny and reflective as are the hubcaps and chrome trim rings on the wheels.   Chrome trim rings around the external lights. horn chrome. and taillight chrome are shiny but I would not consider them to be anywhere near a high gloss show perfect mirror condition.

There are no signs of cloudiness in any of the glass.

The interior floor mat is brown rubber.   The front and rumble seats are a heavy brown leather-like vinyl.   A small section of the front seat where it fits into its holder is rubbed but you can't see it when the seat is in place.   One of the seams in the side of the front seat is slightly separated.

In the rumble seat area there are three kickboards that surround where one sits.   All three boards have multiple marks on the surfaces.

This beautiful Buick is mechanically sound in every way.   The straight 8 fires right up and quietly purrs.   Oil pressure ranges from 30 to 35.   It doesn't overheat.   Engine does not smoke.   Three speed transmission shifts easily and succinctly.   Mechanical brakes are strong.   Hand brake is fully functional.   Engine compartment is very clean. neat and nice looking.

I've been driving the car every couple of weeks for the last several months.   Never a problem with any system – this car drives as beautifully as it looks!

Undercarriage is solid and for the most part clean.   I included a few undercarriage photos in this array.

You can view 65 additional photos (no duplicates) that show more detail of the undercarriage. engine compartment. interior and rumble seat compartment.   Go to www. 1935buick. shutterfly. com  Click on the first photo below the welcome message to view all photos.

The DC metro chapter of the Buick Club of America awarded this car a Gold Award in 1997.   This car has won many local show awards.   As previously stated. this car has been garage-kept since my father's purchase and well maintained.    Spare parts. manuals. documents. awards and marketing literature are included.   I don't know much more about the car but will attempt to answer all questions.

All photos (but 1) were taken on 5/20/14.   The older photo is the one showing the car without the optional trunk.

I'm looking to get at least $45. 00 for this stunning 1935 Buick beauty.

This car is also for sale locally.   I reserve the right to end the auction early to a local buyer.   However. it will have to be a great offer to pull it off of eBay.

A $1000. 00 non-refundable PayPal deposit is required within 24 hours of auction close.  The balance is due and payable within 7 days of auction close by CASH ONLY – no other form of payment will be accepted.   Buyer responsible for retrieving and or transporting the car – however I will assist as needed.
