1986 TVR 280i "Tasmin" Convertible for sale

This is a great example of a very rare classic British sports car. the TVR 280i. The car dates from 1986. making it one of the last TVR's ever imported into the USA. It has covered just over 30. 00 miles from new and has had just 3 owners in that time. I've owned 4 TVR's. have visited the factory in Blackpool on three occasions and I purchased this car in 2011 from a local TVR Car Club member.  I love it but the recent purchase of an F-Type Jaguar means that I now have 2 convertibles and my wife tells me that's one too many!

The car is in great condition for it's age and is probably the nicest 280i for sale in the USA. In the hands of the previous owner it won awards at the car club concours in 2008 and 2009 and it has been cosseted it's whole life. It runs very well indeed. the Ford "Cologne" engine pulls well and the 4 speed manual gearbox is slick and precise. The car has a very pleasing exhaust note and draws many admiring looks and comments. All of the electrics work. including the pop up headlamps. Mechanically everything is fine with the exception of the A/C which has not worked since I had the car and which requires a new compressor. I did not feel the need to fix it as I only ever drive the car in good weather. usually with the roof down. The bodywork is very clean with just a very few small nicks and scratches. The tires have plenty of tread but are a little older and could probably do with changing soon. The leather upholstery is very tidy with no tears or worn areas. The roof fits good and tight. The underneath of the car is very clean and I have both a full size and a space saver spare wheel and a fitted car cover. I also have a huge amount of paperwork with the car. including correspondence with the factory by the original buyer. 20 years of receipts and even the original window sticker!

Here's a great chance to buy a piece of British motoring history at very sensible money. They don't make these Blackpool rockets anymore! For the price of an old. depreciating Fiesta or Corolla you can be driving a real sports car and enjoying the summer weather.
