1981 Mercedes 300SD Turbo-Diesel OVERHAULED w/ 6-mo WARRANTY, Rebuilt Trans

From the rare paint color and immaculate interior to the impeccable performance. this car is a total dreamboat.
We've done an exhaustive mechanical overhaul of this car over the last six months. It's been my daily driver off and on for the past four months through windy country roads and up and down the local mountain passes. I've put about 2000 miles on it so far. This has been a vital part of our overhaul process. working out every minute issue before it's ready for a new owner.
The air conditioning blows cold. the cruise control works great. the steering is tight. the suspension is nice and smooth. the transmission shifts great. the motor performs beautifully. Power sunroof. windows. antenna and locks all work perfectly. Has a full set of brand new tires with less than 3k miles.

Mechanical Condition
I got this vehicle from the third owner. The second owner had the transmission rebuilt at 117k miles at a cost of $2800 (paperwork included).
The third owner ran it out of oil and destroyed the original block.
I purchased it with the bad motor. Here at our shop we had a motor with only 155k miles in great shape except for a stuck exhaust valve in the cylinder head. We mated that complete motor with the original cylinder head. completely tearing down. cleaning out and reconstructing the engine in the process.

-Replaced Accessory Gaskets: Injection Pump. Fuel Pump. Water Pump. Vacuum Pump. Oil Filter Housing
-Replaced Fuel Filters & Hoses
-Flushed Fuel System
-Replaced Air Filter
-Replaced all fluids: coolant. power steering fluid. motor oil
-Replaced Thermostat

In addition. we also performed the following work on the car:
-Replaced Rear Brake Pads
-Bled Brakes
-Recharged A/C system
-Replaced Front Brake Bearing Joints
-Front-End Alignment

Warranty Terms
This vehicle will be sold with:
180-day Driveline Warranty: In the event of failure of any mechanical or electrical part in the drivetrain (engine. transmission. differential) within 180 days of purchase. we will replace it with an equivalent used part in good working condition. This does not cover labor unless you bring it up to our shop (in Glendale. OR). It also does not cover rubber parts. gaskets. or accessory systems (cruise control. climate control). Appropriate maintenance must be performed and fluid levels maintained at their proper levels for any warranty claim to be considered valid.
60-day Accessory Warranty: In the event of failure of any accessory component within 60 days of purchase. we will replace it with an equivalent used part in good working condition. This does not cover labor unless you bring it up to our shop (in Glendale. OR). This covers all electrical. vacuum and mechanical parts but does not cover any rubber parts or gaskets. Appropriate maintenance must be performed and fluid levels maintained at their proper levels for any warranty claim to be considered valid.

Body Condition
The body overall is in fantastic shape. No rust anywhere to be found and only two tiny dimples (smaller than a dime and difficult to find) in the panels. We just sandblasted and refinished the wheels.
The paint was redone previously. with the gold fleck added to the original burgundy color. It sparkles so magnificently in the sunshine. There has been some fading on the top from the sun. as you can see at various points around the car. There are a few spots where the paint has been touched up.
We were originally planning to have the paint done and sell this car at a higher price. Instead we are offering it at a lower price and we're leaving that up to the new owner. We'd be happy to have that work done here at a local body and paint shop at our commercial price. To have it redone from the stripe up would be about $1400.

Interior Condition
The interior on this car is easily a 9/10. The dash is almost completely crack-free. The front seats are nearly flawless. The rear seat is in great shape except some of the batting has come loose. The door panels are excellent. with a few minor stains. The wood trim is all great except a couple small holes in the shifter surround. Headliner is fantastic. The carpet is fairly good but has some staining. We considered replacing the carpet but decided to leave the price lower and let the new buyer decide. We could have a new carpet set installed for about $800.

Payment Terms
Deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours of auction's close via Paypal.
Full balance is due within 7 days of purchase. I can accept cash. a USPS money order. or a cashier's check from a major bank.
Photograph of title can be provided before payment of full balance if requested.

Transport & Storage Terms
The car is currently located in Southern Oregon and will be delivered for free to the SF Bay Area. or to any major city between Seattle and the SF Bay Area. I can deliver to stops in between or to Southern California for a small additional fee. Please allow 1-3 weeks after end of the auction for delivery. Bay Area delivery may be faster; contact us with questions.
For other locations. we may be able to help arrange transportation.
We will sell to international customers.
We can store the car here at no additional cost for up to 6 weeks.
