"What is that?"  is what 99 out of 100 people say when they see this car for the first time.  

So what is it?  It is a top of the line Nash Ambassador Super in great driving condition.   Believe it or not. this Golden Anniversary Pininfarina Nash. styled by PininFarina. received several prestigious design awards.

So. what it is NOT?  It was not a cheap car of the 50's.   In the mid 50's. this car was in the price class of a high end Mercury or Pontiac; more expensive than a 56 T-bird. hundreds more than a Corvette and nearly $1000 more than a Chevy Bel Air.  

This car was originally purchased in Long Beach and lived it's life in Whittier. CA.  It is an excellent rust free The exterior is in good driver condition to perfect easy restoration candidate.   The antenna is broken and the I was told when I had the gas tank boiled and lined that the fuel sender float has a leak. Therefore the gas gauge doesn't shows empty.   The horn. windows. seats. doors. heat. air. temp and everything else work. The seats recline individually and fold down into twin travel beds. a Nash-Rambler exclusive.   The condition of the two tone seats are good in the front. but the original fabric only remains on the rear seats and panels.   I will supply the winner with a place that sells the OEM exact fabric for $95/ yd.   The dash is great on this car.  Other features include Weather-Eye heating & ventilation system. 2 speed wipers with optional washer. tinted plastic see-thru sun visors. handi-pak net storage above sun visors. illumination package including lighted glove box.  All the glass is in great condition.  The pan and trunk are rust free and solid a rock.  The engine starts instantly and kicks down as it should when you hit the gas.  Idle is perfect and the engine & exhaust are quiet.   I just  had the muffler replaced. the tank boiled out and lined. the carburators rebuilt and brake system gone through.  Driving is an experience in itself.  The car drives down the road easily and smooth as silk.  A lot of people wave and I get lots of compliments and questions when I stop.  These cars are rare under celebrated.  The grill is one of the coolest in the 50's and the color scheme is very cool.  Jiminy Cricket and Walt Disney were the spokespersons for the 1956 Ambassador.  I have an ad where one is driving around Disneyland on Main Street with Walt.  This is a great driver. and with paint and some interior could be a show car.  Until the car meets it's reserve I reserve the right to end this auction at any time.  If you would like to schedule a showing. please call me at 310-259-5195.  I need 24 hours notice as the car is parked in a hanger at the Torrance Airport and I will need to pull it out and take it home to show.  Thanks a lot for bidding.
