Extra TR250 engine and cylinder head for sale
Current customer rating: (328 votes ) based on1965 Triumph GT6. Florida title puts date as 1965 which I have in my name but there is some discussion that first year was 1966. I bought this car while in the middle of another project and have decided to finish the other and let this one go.
This car is running and driving and I will certainly do my best to describe it accurately and tell all I know about it however I do suggest a preview.
Car is located in Winter Park Florida near Orlando.
What has been done already:
Brake hydraulics rebuilt including new flex hoses.
Brand new tires with about 75 miles on them
Nice period correct wheels which need to be polished etc
Front floor pans replaced
Right side front frame outrider repaired.
Battery box replaced and proper drain installed.
Rear camber modification installed. A rather important modification.
Valves adjusted and cylinder compression 148 to 150 all 6 cylinders
Oil pressure gauge shows 50 cold. Add on gauge
New battery
New fuel pump and tank removed and cleaned.
New wooden steering wheel with correct Triumph logo center hub. Never installed
Dash support recovered with British Vinyl.
There is a tub of parts included with the grill and a bunch of other things.
Now what it needs in my opinion worst stuff first:
Hood (Bonnet) needs some repair at front and I tried to show with photos. Easy fix with a bit of metal and welding. The Triumph letters on front are missing
The hood center support at the very front needs to be repaired
The two side latches for the hood need a bit of work.
Accelerator cross shaft needs to be re-bushed.
Lucas wiring . well enough said as I would go through it but all seems working
Basically interior needs to be replaced. a bit of body repair. paint and buff and check wiring harness and have fun. A fast little car.
Note the photo of the spare tire well with no serious rust at all.
Roof has a few bubbles but car of course should be stripped. blocked. primed and painted and all will be good
The heater core was removed as it was full of stuff and motor works as I remember.
The wood dash is pretty nice and I would just give a light refinish
The headliner has been removed but the bows are included
The seat covers are decent but foam and membranes need to be rebuilt
Door panels are decent but hardware inside and out is somewhat pitted. Mirrors. handles etc
Carpet and sound deadening needed
I have a brief movie of the engine running but couldn't put it here. I can email if needed
I have more photos but had trouble loading more
About the extra engine. I built a TR250 a few years ago and have the extra engine. I would love to have it go with the GT6. It has a small port head and turns over by hand and an extra cylinder head included. I don't want to try to ship them separately and if winner of this auction doesn't want them no problem. I want them out of my shop.
