1937 Ford Model Y pick up for sale

'Billy'1937 Ford Model Y 
Billy started life as a standard saloon Model Y. but in the 1980's was rediscovered on a farm on Exmoor being used as a chicken coop. The middle section was too rotten so has been cut out and the original rear window used to form the rear window of the pick up. It maintains its original Briggs body number (still visible) and original registration number. The cab contains the original parts.
It has had a complete rebuild. the underside is immaculate as never see's the rain. Every part has been stripped and reassembled. Is converted to 12v.
The engine is a 100e model 1172cc which was available from 1953. and this engine was the last and most powerful of the sidevalve 10hp units. The carb is a Reece Fish carb.  Parts are no problem for the engine.  Mileage since rebuild is 260 miles. New exhaust. The gearbox is original Model Y.
The car runs well. stops well. (rod brakes) and has barely been used since its rebuild.
The car comes with a frame and canvas to make the back pick up section covered. spare wheel. tyre. box full of spares. oil and filter. crank handle and few bits of age related memorabilia. newspapers and books. The door panels feature playing cards from the early 1900's. The indicators are wartime indicators with hood to hide from enemy aircraft. Comes with 2 copies of original reproduced service manuals. one to get grubby and one to keep!It is featured in Ford Y&C Register's list of known surviving vehicles. Also featured in the clubs magazine. Is tax and MOT exempt. Even though MOT exempt. has been serviced and checked for road worthiness.

Just a few extra's. Dimensions of the truck are:Length 11ft 10" (142 inches)Width 5ft (60 inches)Pick up bed length is  3ft 5" (43 inches)
The flat bed section is metal with has been covered with a layer of wood so is sturdy.
The V5 states it is a pick up.
The number plate and Briggs Body number are the original numbers.
It is not a speed machine. it wont go 90mph and stop on a sixpence. It will quite happy sit at 45mph.
