I am reducing my collection and here is my Mercedes 280GE in Jet Black with Grey check trim.  This is one of the most accomplished 4x4 vehicles that I have ever driven and I own Land Rovers. a Range Rover and have had a variety of others.  I bought this one requiring paintwork. not rusty. It was previously owned by a property developer who had nearly as many toys as me and has not had a hard life.  I have slowly collected all the original parts that needed replacing for this to be one of the best of its kind. aiming for the completely original look with high quality everything off body preparation. standard grey check trim and the proper orange indicator front and rear.  In a world of pimped G-Wagen trying to appear younger than their years I wanted a factory fresh look from 1989 and that's what I have.  No Botox or fillers. no face lifts or tints. no Xenon lights or loud music.  I may be dull but this is the purest and most powerful version of an outstanding vehicle (aside from the V8) and it needs no bling.  Seats and interior are original and in very good condition.  
If you are genuinely interested in owning one. you need to inspect before bidding on Ebay.  Many have been treated badly and a thorough restoration will cost far more than any final value that you will achieve.  I have been a classic car collector for 30 years and have no doubt that a good G-Wagen will steadily increase in value if properly maintained.  I am in no rush to sell. I don't need the money. there will be no pressure for you to buy.  Glass out. everything off paintwork is underway and completion should be within the the next 2 weeks.  Come and view and ask questions. I will consider sensible offers based on my asking price which is far less than my costs to date.  I do not expect to sell to anyone who has not viewed. currently in my secure workshop in Brackley Northants.
Mechanically and bodily exceptional with a very good interior and desirable options including air conditioning. electric windows. central locking. diff locks and factory tinted glass.
All external trim has been removed and reconditioned.  Screen and rubbers replaced. OEM new lights front and rear. new tyres etc.
