This 1961 Corvette spent the last four plus decades in Tennessee…This number matching project project is very easy to finish and includes a rebuilt engine ('519 270 HP block and heads were rebuilt by USA Motor & Machine in Nashville. TN). a rebuilt BW T-10 4 speed. restored generator and a restored hard top (new chrome & stainless. headliner. glass. catches. hooks. etc…)  The project comes with the original vin plate (VIN number 10867S105254) and a valid state of Tennessee title. The original color. per the previous owner. was Roman Red. Much of the expensive and difficult work has already been completed including the following:  the body has been removed from the frame and the frame has been restored including brake & fuel lines and new exhaust system. The engine. transmission. head. carburetors (see description below*). generator. etc. have all been professionally rebuilt. The NOS distributor (part number 1110891. date code 0 L 2 1) will require minor cosmetics due to sitting on the shelf for years and years.  The original windshield wiper motor and drum are included and have been professionally restored to NCRS specs by D&M Restorations. The windshield frame. door posts and front and rear bumpers have been re-plated (three of the bumpers have been re-plated and the fourth is a core) and are ready to be installed on the car. The headlight buckets have been restored including new wiring harnesses.

The body comes with the original hood. original deck lid on hinges. original doors. original trunk lid. original gas tank cover. original rear clip and original cowl vent. The front clip is a replacement front end and includes new wheel wells (not yet installed). The front clip has yet to be attached to the car. The firewall. floor boards. shifter area. transmission tunnel and inner trunk are very straight and solid and have not been modified.  

Dozens & dozens & dozens of new parts. including many NOS parts and GM Authorized Reproduction parts come with the project including the following: new windshield with new weatherstrip. wiring harnesses including the main harness. gas tank. Harrison expansion tank. grill bar. NOS upper grill shell. NOS lower grill shell outer grill moldings. right hand inner and outer tail lamp assemblies. left hand inner and outer tail lamp assemblies. NOS left and right hand parking light assemblies. grill molding mount kit. door chrome moldings. waterfall console stainless. side Corvette plaques. rear emblem with silver letters. side red and blue bar emblems. door post mount hardware. nose letter set. NOS window crank handles. door handles. side spears with backing plates. side stainless molding. side molding mount kit. side spear speed nuts and reinforcement plates. NOS headlight retainers. ignition shielding. splash shields. splash shield weather stripping. splash shield mount hardware. generator mount bolts and rubber bushings. NOS shifter console bezel. windshield washer assembly. expansion tank hose. firewall grommets. fan blade. flex fuel lines to pump. expansion tank to radiator hose. NOS parking brake cable. fuel line clamp. starter motor brace. solid lift oil cap. oil dip stick tube. fuel tank cap. heater hoses. radiator hoses. fan shroud. many decals. etc. etc

Other parts included are the original steering wheel. nbsp;original intake manifold. exhaust manifolds. shifter with linkage. oil pan. original steering column with restored steering box. original Wonderbar radio. nbsp;restored starter. original seats in fair condition. original seat frames with tracks. oil. battery. fuel & temp gauges. restored heater. tachometer. speedometer. lower dash console. original Harrison radiator (will require restoration). restored core support. original welded wheels. door hinges. door hardware. side windows & window hardware. window regulators and channels. nbsp;after-market (?) rear leaf springs (either brand new or recently restored). correct master cylinder. grab bar. wiper transmissions. clutch cross shaft & clutch linkage. original package tray and tray support. miscellaneous brackets and braces. professionally polished seat back stainless. etc. etc

The project is mostly complete but I have not taken an inventory of any missing parts. I do know the wheel covers are missing and the brake pedal assembly. Also. the restoration on the frame occurred several years ago and will require some paint touch up. The radiator in the pictures is an after market radiator and is not the Harrison radiator included with the project car. Lastly. there was (it has since been removed) an after market power steering system bolted to the front of the frame and the bolt holes will need to be cosmetically attended to.

1961 270 HP dual four carburetor:  Main body casting numbers. nbsp;both are 0-049. front carburetor air horn (top) is cast  6-1299. and is stamped 1161  (correct stamping for all front dual fours). Front carburetor base is drilled and tapped ¼ pipe at rear center as all 1961s were. (for optional California pcv system). Rear carburetor air horn is cast 6-1299. and is stamped 1296. (correct stamping for all late 1957-1961 rear dual fours). Choke housing is cast (170) 506. which is the correct choke housing cast number all late 1956-1961 dual four barrel carbs. Choke cover is the correct flat cover Carter Climatic control (170) AB 238S. as all 1956-1961 choke covers should be for 2X4. Base is drilled and tapped ¼ pipe. Both carburetors have correct brass vent tubes over the top. and hex extended idle mixture screws as all dual four Chev. Carburetors had. Both carburetors have original correct throttle levers for front and rear carbs. (lower part of front lever is removed at factory). Both carburetors will have all the correct jets. idle jets. metering rods. and internal components. floats. etc. Carburetors. will be rebuilt. restored. properly recolored main bodies. choke housing. and accelerator pump nozzles. to the greenish gold. zinc dichromate finish. as original. NOT painted. Carburetor bases will be properly recolored  black as original with tool black. NOT painted. All aluminum will be refinished to new appearance. (bare aluminum as original). All external and internal adjustments will be made to correct factory specifications.
