1968 Morris Minor 2 door - Tax and MOT - No Reserve for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.1) based on 358 votes

I am listing this car for my Luddite friend Pete who still has not embraced the computer age. As a result. if you ask any questions that I do not know the answer to. it may take longer than normal to get an answer as I will have to find out and get back to you.

On to the car. This is a 1098cc Morris Minor 2 door saloon first registered on the 6th February 1968. since when it has covered 119. 34 miles. My friend Pete bought this as a run around until his Riley RMA was MOTed. and now that is on the road he would like a bit more space so the Morris is for sale. As it turns out. he hardly used the Morris as it has only covered 310 miles since the MOT back in September. The MOT expires on the 18th September 2014. the free tax expires at the end of September.

Since buying the car. Pete has fitted 4 new tyres (which have covered about 100 miles) and done some general tidying of the car. There is a small pile of receipts with the car for work done. and MOTs going back to 1985 when the recorded mileage was 63. 41. The car has obviously had work done to it over the years. including 4 new wings being fitted. but this was some time ago. The underside of this car appears solid with no signs of rot. and you are most welcome to view the car and carry out any inspection before bidding. It starts first time. runs really well with no obvious mechanical problems and sounds like a Morris Minor should!

The only thing that lets this car down is the paintwork. it appears better in the photographs than it really is. It is what I would describe as a “good 10 yard car”. looks smashing from 10 yards away. As you get closer. it is obvious that the respray that was presumably done when the new wings were fitted was not of the best quality. and over time there has developed some micro blistering and in a few places the paint is getting thin from too much polishing. Make no mistake. the paint still looks good and the car is very presentable. but the paint is not perfect. In my mind. this would make a great car for the summer to run around with. take to shows etc whilst getting ready to respray it after which it will be a top car.

The Morris is located near Montrose. in the North East of Scotland and must be collected by the winning bidder. I would happily drive this car anywhere. but please remember the distances involved before bidding. It will be possible to pick up a winning bidder from Montrose Railway Station to collect by arrangement.

I think that is it. look at the photos. come and see the car. ask any questions (I will answer if I can or get back to Pete) and good luck with your bidding. Please remember I would like £100 deposit by Paypal at the end of the auction. with the balance in cash on collection. Thank you.
