76 Mk2 Triumph Stag. Original Triumph 3. 0 V8 with Auto. Pimento Red with Black interior. Hard & Soft tops. Tax & MOT. In South East London.
I've owned this car for a couple of years & was my daily driver for a while (when not in my work van). It lives outside. in the street. in London. outside my house with all my other cars. With my neighbours patience with me probably failing fast. its time for the Stag to go.
Bodywise its well above average but at 38 years old it aint gonna be perfect. It'll have the odd mark here & there. The rear bumper has a couple of dings. But as far as I can tell its pretty much all original & cant find any evidence of past welding. Being the Mk2 it has stainless sill covers & body coloured rear panel. rather than black. The Hardtop is rust free & has all the original trims. Its has the Sundym tinted glass to match the rest of the glass. The Softtop is also in good order with a smooth folding frame. The zip out rear window has a couple or small holes & is a bit milky. But. I have a new Mohair hood fitted to a spare frame in my loft which goes with the car.
The interior is Black. all original & in very good order. All the carpets are unworn & come with over mats. Electric windows. The only mods are the fitting of an oil pressure gauge in place of the original clock. Plus rear lap seatbelts.
Mechanically its all original. Yes it still has the correct Triumph 3. 0 V8 & no it doesn't overheat. Auto Box. Power Steering with adjustable column. Has a couple of mods. New Lumination Electronic ign & Coil. Electric cooling fan as well as the original viscous fan (never needed to use it though). New Stainless Big Bore exhaust system. New Battery. New Springs. Fitted with full set of 5 original polished Alloys with New Marshal tyres. Also comes with a set of freshly powdercoated Steel wheels (which I fit for winter use).
Taxed untill the end of the month. Mot'd untill October.
Only faults really are. I disconected the drivers door lock & removed the rear locating clip for the soft top. Reason for this was because living in London. id rather someone not need to smash the window or slash the roof to break in. Now ive reconected the door lock. it wont lock ? plus I cant find the soft top clip I removed ?Other thing is that sometimes the wipers blow a fuse if not used for a while. Thats about it I think.
Very honest usable car. Not a pampered. tucked away in a garage. summer sunday car.
