Rotisserie Restored Show Quality Paint Houndstooth

Professionally restored over the last 2 years. this Original RS Camaro went through a 120K. spare no expense build.   The car was finished at Grubbs Motorsports last summer and has since only had 1. 00 miles added to the odometer.   This car has won every show and best in paint that it has entered.   The pictures will not do this car justice. when you see the mirror deep black finish that was laid down you will understand the level of perfection that was taken to build this car.   You could easily spend north of 150K to duplicate this car and with over 2. 00 man hours dedicated to building this car it would take18-24 months to build the same car.   So here is a chance to buy your dream car and you get it for far less than build cost and you don't have to wait to drive it.

The Car:

Originally a RS car. this car has had several options added to make the car a modern muscle car. the body was disassembled and blasted to show any metal issues.   The overall body was solid with some minor rust. all bad areas were completely removed and replaced with top quality replacement parts.   After the sheetmetal replacement process was complete the car underwent over 500 hours of custom metalwork and bodywork to achieve better than factory gaps.   This is a step a lot of shops don't see through and it shows in the final product.   After all high and low spots were smoothed into shape and all gaps were corrected a minimum of filler needed to be used.   The car then went into Polyester Primer which was blocked out and a final primer was applied which was PPG Urethane Primer.   After fitting the entire car in final prime it was disassembled for a show car quality paint job.   After the deep black PPG basecoat was applied a factory type pure White Hockey stripe was laid out and cleared over.   This is different than a factory car because you cannot feel the edge of the paint. it is slick everywhere.   All body gaps are straight. doors. hood. and trunk shut better than factory.   After paint the car had another 100 hours of wetsanding and buffing done to the clearcoat to achieve the mirror slick finish that it has.   You can literally shave while looking at any part of this car.   The owner says that at least 10 people stop and ask him at every show. nbsp;who painted that car because they have never seen black look that good before.   Of course all weatherstripping is new and looks great. all latches are new or rebuilt.   The car features better than factory power windows that roll up and down with ease and fit great to the body and each other.  The hideaway headlights and grill are all new as well and are the modern electric setup. they work great.  The window moldings fit correctly to the body as they too were trial fitted during the bodywork process.   Now you are seeing what makes the difference in a Grubbs Motorsports paint job and the other guys.  

The Drivetrain:

One of 427 Limited Edition 427 Cubic inch all Aluminum GM Performance Parts Engines

Conservatively rated at 430 horsepower. we estimate it to be closer to 480.   This engine cost over $28. 00 and that is before the upgraded Quick Fuel SS750AN Carburetor that has been installed and tuned to perfection.   It has an electric choke and runs and starts perfectly in any weather.   This engine takes this car to another level. when you raise the hood people stop and look twice.   You won't see this engine in the car next to you at the show because they only made 427 of them. this particular engine is number 145 of 427 and comes with all documentation. fender badges etc. that comes with the package.  The engine is outfitted with a modern GM serpentine pulley system that features a higher amperage alternator. modern AC compressor. and power steering pump.   The radiator is a very nice aluminum unit that features dual electric fans that are thermostatically controlled as well as triggered to turn on with the AC compressor.   The car runs cool even on a hot Texas summer day.   The AC system is very nice in that it is a factory setup and retains the original look under the hood. it works great and will keep you cool on a 100 degree day.   The transmission is a TH 400 that shift exactly as it should. it has a built torque converter that is matched to the 427 engine.  The exhaust is a full custom 3" stainless steel system that has Flowmaster mufflers and it sounds great.  The rearend is a fully built 12 bolt that has new 3. 36 gears and an aftermarket positrac unit with all new bearings. seals and hardware.

Suspension and Brakes:

The steering box has been replaced by an aftermarket Rack and Pinion power setup that retains full turning radius and offers precise smooth modern steering.   The brakes have been upgraded to 4 wheel disc with drilled rotors and better than stock calipers. the car has a new power brake booster and master cylinder and the brakes are very good. it will stop when you need it to.   The suspension is a stock configuration with upgraded parts that provide a smooth quiet ride.   This car doesn't rattle. squeak. or do any of the things these cars typically do.   The gas tank and lines are new.   I am sure I'm missing something about the body but as I said it has had a nut and bolt restoration. if it came off the car it got replaced or restored.  

Interior:

Full of factory upgrades. the interior is a black and white Houndstooth factory type setup that has undergone a full restoration. new carpet. headliner. weatherstrip. power windows. dash pad is new. gauges are fully restored. factory type console with gauges and shifter.   Basically everything inside the car is also new or replaced including the glass.   All lights. horns. wipers. gauges. everything works as it should.
