This makes the 1979 Pontiac Trans Am a very prominent car to consider in any sports car collection!

Offered here is a Van Nuys. California built 1979 Pontiac Trans Am Special Edition finished in factory correct Starlight Black (19L19U) with full S. E. gold decals over Black Vinyl interior (19N1). its number's matching L78 400ci V8-4bbl producing a factory estimated 220 horsepower and strong 320 lb ft of torque. Borg Warner T10 4-speed manual transmission. and 3. 23 Safe-T-Track rear axle ratio! Factory options include highly sought-after Y84 Special Edition package. WS6 Special Performance Package providing 4-wheel disc brakes. 15” dished snowflake alloy wheels. larger sway bars. and stiffer springs! Additional options factory air conditioning. heavy duty battery. remote driver mirror. custom trim group & color-keyed seat belts. all Soft-Ray tinted glass. lamp group. original AM/FM Stereo radio with windshield antenna. and removable T-top roof panels.

The air conditioning system was retrofitted for R134a refrigerant. The entire suspension system was rebuilt with new shocks. ball joints. sway bar bushings. end links. idler arm. and tie rod ends. The snowflake wheels were refinished and fitted with BF Goodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. Wearable items like the brakes. exhaust system. fuel pump. and cooling system were either rebuilt or replaced during the process. Today. the car is showing only 60. 12 miles on the odometer. supported only by an actual mileage title. It sincerely runs and drives as good as it looks! This car delivered new to Plaza Pontiac in Tucker. Georgia late in the production year on April 19th. 1979!
