Up for auction is my 1963 1/2 Mercury Comet Sportster Hardtop. I am selling this car because I moved to the city and no longer have room for it at my new home.
I have personally put a lot of wrench-time. care. and work into this vehicle so if you have any questions. please don't hesitate to ask. The engine is a 302ci out of a 1999 Ford Explorer (same 5. 0 engine as the 1993/94 Cobra) and has less than 1. 00 miles on the rebuild. The transmission is a 700R4 that was installed new. not rebuilt. connected to a Lokar shifter on the floor. I used an adaptor from advancedadapters. com to get the Ford Engine on the GM transmission. It works flawlessly. I installed a Vintage Air unit that works great. blows cold. and is controlled by the factory knobs on the dash.
The heads are the best to ever leave the Ford factory for a 5. 0. GT40p that have been ported. polished. and have a 3angle valve job.  The cam is a custom grind roller CompCam w/ matching CompCam pushrods. and roller lifters. The roller rockers are 1. 6 ratio stainless steel. I searched high and low for the matching genuine Ford Cobra Valve Covers. they have been long out of production and were extremely difficult to find. The exhaust has JBA headers w/ dual 2. 5inch exhaust connected to Borla mufflers. An oval K&N sits on top of the 650cfm edelbrock carb. a Milodon oilpan sits underneath.
This car is NOT a trailer queen. it was not my intention to have a show car. rather something that was nicer than most show cars and I could also drive regularly.  The car is an original V8 from the factory (even though Ebay is only giving me option to list it as a 6). Suspension is original as are the drum brakes which still work very well.

I installed a hidden sound-system w/ two speakers under the seat and two under the dash that hook up to an aux iPod/iPhone so that the car appears stock. There is an electronic voltmeter/tachometer under the drivers side visor to monitor the engine and also try to keep the car looking as stock as possible from a glance.

This car was a driver for a very short period of time before my move. Please let the photos speak for themselves. It is very well kept. again if you have any questions. Please let me know.
