Ford Zodiac

Ford Zodiac - this is the car that focuses on the middle class. Its production was carried out by the British division of concern Ford from 1953 to 1972. This is the last of a purely English Ford s, to replace them came model of Granada, developed already in the close partnership between the various divisions of the company.

The first generation (until 1956) was equipped with engines 2262 cm3 with a capacity of 72 HP. The basis of the issue were sedans, but there were some universals. Maximum speed was 130 km/h. It is noteworthy that this model was not only a commercial success, but even won the race tracks. For example, in 1954 the modified Ford Zodiac under the control of Maurice Getsonidesa won the race in the В«Monte-CarloВ», ahead of even Jaguar Mark VII.

The second (1956-1962)and the third (1962-1966) - generation Ford Zodiac released with minor modifications of the body and the technical sovershenstvovaniyami. In the fourth generation (1966-1972) Ford Zodiac received hydraulic steering, power Windows, which, however, were established only in the optional procedure. Also, in accordance with the trends of the time, began to be installed even in a base complete sets of safety belts.
