Classic Mini Clubman 1275 fast road 1977

With a heavy heart I'm selling my first mini to fund other projects and an impending family.

Its registered as Leyland Cars Mini Clubman Auto fitted with a 1275 Manual on the V5. although its still says its blue and silver. I was getting the colour changed but I wouldn't have the V5 back before the sale.

MOT until 31/7/14. TAX until October 2014

I've spent lots of time and money to make him a real head turner with the performance to match. Everyone loves him and he gets lots of attention everywhere he goes.

Lots of work has been done recently by a mini specialist in Sheffield plus the additional performance and styling mods. Its easier to list them all so here goes.

Engine/Exhaust

Metro A+ 1275 block. lightened and balanced flywheel and clutch.

11 stud big valve cylinder head (36inlet and 31 exhaust) flowed ported and polished by Rob walker. Professionally fitted by a Steve Hartley Mini Specialist.

HIF44 carb. flowed and wasted butterflies.

Finned rocker cover

Ported inlet manifold

LCB exhaust manifold

Full stainless twinbox centre exit exhaust system. (sounds very nice. not too loud but with a nice burble)

Standard 4 speed gearbox

Recent service and oil change. with a helicoiled sump plug by Steve Hartley Mini specialists.

Suspension/brakes

Hi-los all round with lowered dampers.

8. 4” front discs and body colour rear drums.

Exterior/wheels

New 2 piece fibre glass front end

New stainless steel bonnet pins

Chrome wipers. jets and blanking plates

New group 5 arches. with rubber strips and rubber sill seam covers

Freshly painted front end including door lowers. scuttle and window surround.

Halo sidelights with halogen beam conversion.

13x7 deep dish split rim style Ultralite Alloys with 2 brand new Maxxis MazR1 on the rear and 2 good Yoko A539 on the front.

Interior

New walnut dash and triple clocks. 60954 as of last MOT but now read just under 42000 on the new clocks. I've done around 700 - 1000 miles since the last MOT.

Panasonic stereo with 6x9 rear speakers.

Classic cobra low back bucket seats

Colour coded door cards

Alloy door handles. window winders and door release.

New chrome rear view mirror.

I spent a lot my effort to make it a really fun fast road drive as well as looking good. there's plenty of power on tap to surprise a few bigger cars. I did plan on eventually increasing it to 1330 and fitting a weber but I got the opportunity to do a complete restoration of a 1971 1275GT and there's now an additional to the family due so I need to make space.

As you can see it looks absolutely stunning in the sunshine and there is zero rust. Great car for the classic car season and reliable enough to be a daily driver. I have a company car so I tended to use it for shorter journeys or for days out. As you can see from the pics at windscar reservoir.
