Alfa Romeo Spider Series 4. 1991 "H" reg

Imported new in 1991 and converted to right hand drive by Sea King. All Spiders from the late 70's were only made in left hand drive. There was no such thing as a factory right hand drive car from then. There were two conversion companies: Bell & Colvill and Sea king. Sea king were the official Alfa Romeo approved conversion company and these conversions are more sought after as it was far superior conversion.

This car has seen continual use from new with almost no breaks in MOT's. I have all the MOT's. bills and documents for the car. These prove that an approved Thatcham system was fitted and still works and mileage is correct at 106000 Kms which equals around 66000 miles from new. It has stood for the last year before I found it and helped it back into roadworthiness. It has just passed an MOT with no advisories and will also have 6 months tax included.

Mechanically good. Starts easily. runs well with no smoke. Gear box is good with none of the normal synchro issues. the clutch needs to be fully depressed when cold which is normally just an adjustment. I will try to address prior to sale. Not an issue just worth mentioning. All brakes are fine and tyres good.

The interior is complete and pretty good. The seats are all leather which is unusual on these cars. They are little cracked but no tears or holes. The carpets are OK but need a damn good scrub. All electrics work and the dash is nice. As it is a Sea King. it has a proper glove box too.

Boot area is tidy and clean with original spare and jack.

Body is perfectly presentable but there are age related marks here and there like minor scuffs on the bumper corners etc. The rear right wing has been painted at some point and there is a run in the paint on the lower rear quarter.

Hood is very good but one part of the frame has snapped and requires a small weld. This is on the left main hinge point and will require the hood frame to be removed to fix. Not a hard job and will be a simple enough fix. This does not effect the operation of weather proof abilities of the hood. nor the appearance. I just want to ensure all issues are pointed out.

A factory original hard top is included. There are some storage scratches on it but otherwise it is very good.

In summary. a very useable car that offers great summer fun with the possibility of minor improvements to increase value. I can offer to have the car re-painted to a high standard and the carpets replaced etc but obviously this would push the price of the car up substantially.
