Toyota Celica Gen 5, superb, full service history, 58,000 miles

This lovely Toyota Celica L903 COJ was purchased new by Mr G Williams of Birmingham from the Toyota dealer “Mists Garage ltd” as a retirement present to himself and he spent his retirement lavishing great care and love upon it. This was he and his wife's pride and joy. only used on nice days and kept in a heated garage throughout his 18 years of ownership. No expense was spared in keeping this car in first class condition and it has the most comprehensive Toyota service history imaginable! Even when Mr Williams only travelled 500 miles in a year he still insisted on a full Toyota service!

I purchased the car from “Toyota World Birmingham” in 2012.

Mr Williams had brought his Celica in to the dealer for its annual service and was discussing with the dealer principal the fact that. now he was well into his 80s. he was going to give up driving. The Toyota dealer immediately offered to buy the car. This is most unusual as main dealers do not market cars over six years old let alone one approaching its 20s! It is testament to how good this car is that they had no hesitation in purchasing the car. They were very familiar with this car after many years of servicing it. They knew every square inch of it top to bottom and knew how rare it was to see an example of a Celica that was this good. In fact they described it as being in the condition of a two year old car and it came with a full “Sytner Gold Warranty” when I purchased it!

This car drives perfectly. absolutely everything functions exactly as it should. the ariel works perfectly. nbsp;which is unusual and the aircon is ice cold instantly and has never been regassed.  The car is extremely clean underneath. far exceeding any you are likely to find. I have seen them all. the only car I think you would find better in this regard is my other Celica which I have decided to keep. It has excellent paintwork which does not have any fading due to its life being spent in a garage and having been lovingly waxed regularly by Mr Williams. Only downside to Mr Williams advancing years is a scuff low down on the front wing that I was quoted £100 to get done. just have not got around to doing it is all.

I have the invoices for servicing. in excess of £6. 00 for basically oil changes and filters!! I have the fully stamped service book. the book pack. three keys and two remotes. MOTs were carried out by Toyota and I have the invoices for those too. but sadly not the actual MOTs only those covering last five years. The last two services were carried out by myself. I have over 30 yrs experience with classic cars and I have the invoices for genuine Toyota parts with the mileage printed on them.

I currently have four cars and this car has been my toy but its a bit silly having two toys that are the same!. as you will see I have covered nearly 9. 00 miles in the last two years of owning this car just using at weekends. it's that nice to drive. with 200 mile round trips most weekends and absolutely trouble free. Quite amusing when you drive past modern cars broken down because “COMPUTER SAYS NO” this Celica will still be running in 20 years time with just regular servicing. Makes it something of a bargain!

Excellent original examples of Gen 5 Celicas are almost non existent these days. In my experience over 37 yrs owning classic cars a restored car no matter how well done will never last and be as good as a mint original car. Get one of these while you can. nbsp;superb looks ( a really good one in the flesh looks completely different to the rough examples u usually see. its like a different car) 0 to 60 in 7. 9 seconds. nbsp;top speed 137 mph. average 33mpg and total reliability. excellent build quality and rust free are all qualities that take some beating compared with the alternatives in the classic car world. When you see the silly money being asked for what were very average cars in their day this car is very reasonably priced.  I believe this car will climb in value considerably over the next 5 years even if you use it and enjoy in the meantime :-)
