1968 Pontiac GTO 6. 5 in light metallic green with dark green roof.
Imported to the UK on 1/11/2010 from Florida. USA.
MOT until October 27th 2014 (Historic vehicle. free tax)
Engine and Transmission. Whilst having it MOT in October. engine ancillaries were changed such as power steering pulley. fan belt. oil and filter. antifreeze. spark plugs. aircon re-gas and a new battery. The gearbox was also overhauled during this service with the final invoice total reaching £5000. The engine runs very well and benefits from upgrades such as MSD ignition control unit. MSD distributor and coil pack. Edelbrock inlet manifold. Holly carb and fuel rail. This is complemented by detailed chrome plating to the rocker covers. alternator. pulleys and rose jointed brace stays. The radiator runs two electric fans which time in when the engine is up to temperature. The suspension has also been upgraded to Edelbrock shocks all round. The chassis and floor pan are both very sound with no signs of rot.
Body. The bodywork is in good condition for its age. Going around the car there are scratches and chips to the paintwork. The nosecone has chips between the bonnet edge and there are a few chips in the middle nose point. also a scratch to the drivers wing. The only part which may need attention is a rust bubble on the bottom of the rear screen. The electric headlight openers do not currently work so are permanently open although a manual overide operation has been fitted to the front valance. Goodyear Eagle GT2 tyres all round with loads of tread left.
Interior. Interior is in good condition and is all original accept for an oil pressure gauge and engine temperature gauge. No rips or tears in the upholstery and it also comes with rubber Pontiac floor matts.
The car drives very well and is perfectly usable as it is. but with a bit of paintwork and some attention to a few details it could be greatly improved. so would make a good ongoing project for someone.
