Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.25) based on 557 votes
An exceptionally fine example. beautifully finished in midnight blue. with blue leather to front. and grey cloth to rear. piped blue. with blue carpets. A great deal of attention has been lavished upon this car. and it has to be seen to be believed. Paintwork. chrome. interior. including the veneers. are just gorgeous. Very importantly. the underside too. is absolutely excellent. and the car is without doubt the finest Phantom VI that we have had the pleasure of handling. Comes with documented evidence of a great deal of care. attention and expenditure. which included the installation of a genuine. R-R Crewe supplied replacement engine in 2000. The file also includes a valuation certificate for £160. 00. from about the same time. since when the car has been lovingly cared-for. It is difficult to properly portray the quality of the car in photographs. and although pictures can sometimes flatter. in this case the opposite is true. Come and see it 'in the flesh'. Truly tremendous value for money.

Chassis No. PRH4665. Reg No. LTU 89. £95. 00.

Snippets – Code Named “Simpsons” Ordered by Major Leslie Sidney Marler OBE TD (1900/1981). after WWII the Major joined the family firm of property speculators. During the 1940s the family lived at Wavendon Towers (built in the 1890s & earlier occupants included Rev. H. Burney son-in-law to Peter Richard Hoare a member of the banking family) near the village of Simpson. Buckinghamshire and not far from Bletchley Park. In 1940 the Major was approached by the Special Operations Executive (SOE) as they wanted to use Wavendon Tower as a recording studio for their propaganda transmissions. as the Major was serving in the army & his family had moved to Scotland they happily agreed and Wavendon Towers was given the codename of “Simpsons” from the local village! The Marler family property business can be traced back to the 1890s with Sidney Marler (Leslie's grandfather) when it was known as the Belgravia Estate Ltd; today the family are still involved in the property market & their extensive portfolio now includes hotels with interests in - The Capital Hotel & The Knightsbridge Green Hotel in London and more recently The St Enodoc Hotel. Cornwall. Later owners of PRH4665 include the undertakers E Turnbull & Son Ltd of North Shields which dates back to the 1790s. in 1907 the Turnbulls had the first motorcar in North Shields – a Vauxhall and by 1949 had a large fleet of cars including Rolls-Royce limousines.
