VW Beetle Last Edition.  A rare opportunity to purchase a true 36 year old classic in outstanding show condition.
The last European built Beetle left the production line in Emden. Germany on the 19th of January. 1978.  To mark the occasion. the final run of 300 RHD cars produced for the United Kingdom was released as a special edition - the 'Last Edition Beetles'.  These were painted metallic silver. upholstered in Royal blue cloth to commemorate the Queens Silver Jubilee. and each had a commemorative plaque giving its unique number within the batch.
Number 104 was supplied to a dealer in Buxton and remained in the same family until I purchased the car in 2009.  The car was regularly maintained by the supplying dealer and the old man who had purchased the Beetle from new kept a log of all work and every petrol fill up including the number of litres used since new until he sadly became too old to drive the car.  This is what you call a cherished vehicle!
Since owning the vehicle I have fully restored the Beetle to it's original condition and it is probably finished to a higher standard than when it left the factory.  It has been professionally resprayed in the original metallic silver. the seats have been professionally reupholstered. it has been fully Dinitrol rust treated as shown. brand new original VW doors. steel wheels and wings have been fitted along with new lights. new brakes. new tyres. new exhaust. new heat exchanger. new suspension and steering components.  Anything needed to be replaced has been using VW original parts where available.
The car has been stored for the last 18 months and comes complete with it's custom car cover in silver and Last Edition plaque on the glovebox.
Currently SORN and will be supplied with a years MOT. Odometer shows 15640 miles.
