1978 Ferrari 400 GT V12

Removed from a local barn yesterday and saw daylight for the first time since 1988. the elderly owner took it off the road when it had covered just 44. 00mls. with the intention of tidying it up. it was partially stripped. seats. bumpers. lights etc were removed and for the pictures they are just placed back in the car. it does appear very complete. the bodyshell is in quite good condition. I cant see any welding needed underneath or to the inner wings etc. there are a few places on the outer bodywork that needs attention such as the o/s front wing but all the panels will easily save without replacement.

Front and rear screens are cracked. carpets need renewing

The engine turns over by hand. of course we have not attempted to start it. the previous owner states that it was running fine when parked up and has been turned over by hand everty few months while in store.  this is one of the more desirable carburetor versions (six twin choke webbers !!) im told these are used as the base car for 250 GTO replicas but it would be a shame to chop the car up in this way.

History shows that all vintage Ferrari are very sought after motor cars by collectors throughout the world. prices of these 400 series have been low for many years but now appear to be quickly on the rise. the reserve on this is very low. nbsp; I would think than the engine is worth over the reserve on its own.

Great project for someone with the skills to restore this car to its former glory. currently worth between £25k and £35k when finished but rising all the time.

We have the rear lights and front indicator spotlamp units which are not shown. we also have many trim items and airboxes etc which are included.
