Volvo P1800s. 1963 requiring total restoration. The car will need considerable welding. sills will need replacing.  front and rear wings will need work probably replacing to get the best results. repair work on the doors. Front chassis rails where the bumpers attach to the chassis will need work. There is paint bubbling up around the petrol filler area and one small section at the rear window.  all the typical Volvo P1800 rust spots are there. All parts are available from Brookhouse Volve. The floor seems to be pretty solid in the boot area. ear seat wells.  passenger and driver foot well where it attaches to inner sills. Engine bay seems solid. inner wings seem solid. The original colour was red. I think the car went through a minor restoration in the 90's where it had some work done and a colour change.
Interior is all there and will need to be reupholstered at some point. to enjoy the P1800 fully but it is in a usable state. Engine turns over and has run with slave fuel for a short period but the car is sold as non runner. Assume the fuel will need to be cleaned through. brakes. clutch. gearbox are all unknowns etc. The only thing I know is missing is the exhaust box at the back. there could be other minors things that i am not sure off. The number plate has been valued at £1750 (757 KGE)
So here we have a early P1800s. that requires total restoration. if you have the money buy one all ready restored between 15-25K. probably cheaper. less headaches in the long run. All the 8-10k bracketed cars seems to need some sort of work. If you don't have that sort of money and you can do some work yourself. this is a viable option to enter the P1800 world. If you are going to spend the money on a P1800 you are better off doing it on one of the more desirable early bull horn bumper models. they do not come up that often. they are in great demand around the world.
Car is based in north London and can be view most days. which is strongly recommended so there are no surprises. there are major financial implications in restoring cars. welding. panels. paint. mechanical. interior etc. So do your research before bidding.
No time wasters. ask for the wife's permission and have all your finances in place before bidding.  I require a £200 deposit within 2 days and the balance by cash in person or bank transfer. Can help with shipping at your expense.
