Mercedes R107 350SL 1974

You are bidding on a 1974 Mercedes 350SL. Included within the sales is a Factory fitted hardtop. (Same colour)
I have owned this car for about 8 year. doing approx 500-1. 00 miles a year. Mainly French trips. All dry weather usage.  Garaged and protected from the elements. Millage is approx 141. 00. Sounds a lot. but these engines go on for 100. 00 of miles with no problems if looked after. They were very under tuned and lazy. Some lower millage models may seem more attractive. but may not be a mechanically sound. Under this bonnet things are clean and show many new shiny parts. (photos available) 
Since I have owned the car. a lot of work has been carried out by the Mercedes specialist that literary knows the car inside out.  
Car is a beautiful colour. unusual for the '70s.  No rust. no dents. chips or scratches (other than very minor)
Inside the carpets have been replaced with a bespoke made cream set professionally installed. blue Mercedes mats.
Stereo is a CD play. delicately installed with a an AMP in the boot and decent speakers. The head unit itself is a Becker and does not look out of place in the dash. Electric Arial.
I have all bills for the works I have had done. nbsp;everything works as it should with the exception of the windows. they are electric but very slow. Something that has never bothered me. but should really be looked at. The hood is in good condition and does not leak (I did get caught in the rain once over in France!) Manual not electric.
Prices for these cars vary massively. some people prefer the '80s models. I prefer the '70s models. Certain aspects of these earlier cars are more solid.  The engine is not fast by todays standards. but still powerful. makes a lovely noise. smooth and does not smoke. (Never needed oil between services or after long journeys). Many of the R107s look fine. but on close inspection have been welded. rusted or in trouble somewhere underneath. This car has been carefully looked after by me and does not need any attention. The previous owner of 10 years also looked after this car well.  
I am in no rush to sell the car. so if you want to make a sensible offer please do. but it it doesn't sell for a decent amount ill wait until next year. They are now appreciating in value.  
Reason for sale. to be honest I want to try something else and need to free up the space.

Comes with Mercedes wallet with various papers and owner history which I obtained from the DVLA. The original owner waiting nearly 18 months for this car as they were seriously sort after when they first came out.  
The car has a licence to be a 2+2 seater. but currently no provision for seating in the back.
The car is 40 years old this year. Do not expect a new car. Its in lovely condition and could be an ever day classic. although too good for that. Everything on this car is a original as i could keep it. Any replacement mechanical parts are either Mercedes or Bosch. 99% of parts are still manufactured by Mercedes and the records of the car are kept in Germany which you can apply for from the Stuttgart museum for around $170. 00 + vat
